Something from Ubisoft appears to have been prematurely posted on the Microsoft Store, indicating that Ubisoft may have plans to announce a new multiplayer game or mode for an existing game soon.

This wouldn’t be the first time a game was publicly listed early on the Microsoft Store, far from it. Just last month, the Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy was posted on the Microsoft Store a week before its official announcement. Last year, two Devolver Digital games were leaked to be coming to Xbox the same way. Suffice to say that these Microsoft Store listings have never seemed to have been wrong.

This new leak from the Microsoft Store seems to have been spotted first by Twitter user @_h0x0d_ and documented by @ALumia_Italia. The game was titled Incursion VMC before quickly being changed to VMC Only, which was then publicly delisted shortly thereafter. VMC refers to the company that Ubisoft works with to test online components of their games, making Incursion the interesting element. Incursion may call to mind the late-game raids of the same name in Ubisoft’s The Division series for some fans, but having two modes with the same name connected to one game sounds unlikely.

What is more likely is that this is a multiplayer test for Rainbow Six Quarantine, a previously announced co-op spin-off of Rainbow Six Siege. Quarantine will have players team up as operators from Siege to fend off waves of alien enemies. According to the listing though, Incursion is for anywhere between 2-102 players, but Quarantine is a co-op vs AI game. This could either be an error on the listing or that another mode is due to be announced that would feature more players.

This accidental early posting on the Microsoft store might have only been a week premature in that case, as Ubisoft is teasing something related to Rainbow Six for Tuesday, May 4. It has been heavily rumored that the game will change its name from Quarantine to Parasite for reasons that are obvious, so perhaps on May 4 Incursion will be revealed to be Quarantine’s new name, or a mode within it. The "Confidential" label suggests that this was meant to be a private internal test for something that may have a public test soon.

It sounds like those curious might get their answer come May 4, but the listing could be something else entirely that Ubisoft plans to announce later. Ubisoft will have a press conference at E3 this year, which will be online only. It's possible that Incursion is a private multiplayer test for a game that could be revealed at E3. Ubisoft’s E3 event is scheduled for June 12 at 12 PM PT.
