Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot talked about bringing Mario + RabbidsSparks of Hope to the next iteration of the Nintendo Switch. This happened after the CEO talked about a piece of advice that Nintendo gave to him regarding the long-rumored Switch 2.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is a video game that brought improvements over its predecessor, Kingdom Battle. Unfortunately, this game's struggle to be a sales success set it to become a landmark in Ubisoft's horrendeous 2022 stock plummet. While the company claimed to be surprised by this development, it was later revealed by Yves that the circumstances behind the game's release were a bit of a mistake.

Yves Guillemot took to GamesIndustry.biz to talk about this particular mistake after reciting advice given to Ubisoft by Nintendo. It's worth noting that in his statement, he says that Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope should've been released on the Nintendo Switch's successor. "We had already released a Mario Rabbids game [on Switch], so by doing another we had two similar experiences on one machine. Nintendo [advised] that it's better to do one iteration on each machine. We were a bit too early, we should have waited for [the next console]." Of course, this would set alarm bells for the players who have been expecting a Switch 2 for quite a while.

The next iteration of the Nintendo Switch has been rumored to be released quite soon. With Nintendo seemingly shifting focus to the Switch 2, Guillemot's statement on Nintendo's advice only adds to the rumor that the successor to the console is in the works. Of course, that also poses the questions about whether or not there would be a new version of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope that would be available in this new console. Ubisoft's CEO added to this point by stating that the game "will last for ten years," and the developer plans to "update it for the new machine that will come in the future." In other words, this could be a new version of the game that includes all the DLC released up to that point, including the recently released Tower of Doooom DLC.

If a Switch 2 were to be available, it would have higher system specifications that would help it adapt to the current-day game industry. With this in mind, this hypothetical version of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope could bring with it several graphical improvements that would entice Nintendo fans to purchase it. Some players could even speculate that this could be a launch game for the console. However, no official confirmation for this rumored console has been made by either Nintendo or Ubisoft as of yet.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is now available on Nintendo Switch.
