When it comes to prestige superhero TV shows, Amazon Prime seems to be the place to go. Though Disney+ is still putting out a ton of Marvel shows, the sheer abundance of them is turning off a lot of fans right now, but that doesn't mean they don't want to see stories from other comic book properties. Amazon has two such IPs waiting in the wings to pull fans back in. While The Boys is Amazon's biggest superhero property, Invincible comes in a very close second, and its quality easily matches the top spot.

An animated show based on the Image Comics character of the same name, Invincible sees young high schooler Mark Grayson, the son of the world-famous Omni-Man, take on his own superhero identity. There are plenty of twists and turns along the way, as well as plenty of violence and gore, and it all meshed together expertly in Invincible's first season. While fans continue to wait patiently for the second season of Invincible, Ubisoft has announced that an Invincible game is heading to mobile devices soon, and it should only be the start for the franchise.

Ubisoft's Mobile Invincible Game Should Be The First of Many

Invincible season 2 Omni Man

Announced just a few days ago, Invincible: Guarding the Globe is an upcoming mobile squad-based RPG that sees players take control of a variety of iconic Invincible characters as they face off against a slew of unique threats, from Flaxan soldiers to a mysterious species of doppelgangers capable of imitating the powers of Invincible and friends. While fans can pre-register now, Invincible: Guarding the Globe doesn't have a set release date just yet, though it's likely that the game will coincide with the launch of Invincible season 2, which will probably drop in a few months' time.

While Ubisoft's Invincible mobile game looks like a fun adaptation of the source material, it still feels as like it's only scratching the surface of what the Invincible franchise has to offer the gaming landscape. Superhero properties are a dime a dozen nowadays, but qualities ones like Invincible are a rarity, and the IP's video game potential makes it even rarer. If the Amazon Invincible adaptation keeps on being a success, then this Ubisoft game should only open the floodgates for more video game spinoffs in the near future.

There are a ton of possibilities when it comes to pitching an Invincible video game, but by far the most interesting option would be a fully-fledged third-person action-adventure game in a similar vein to Marvel's Spider-Man. A proper AAA Invincible game could finally offer the Superman video game experience that fans have been longing for, but with none of the pressure that comes with it. Super flight, super strength, and super speed would all be at the player's disposal, and with a proper physics engine, a AAA Invincible game could be truly spectacular.

Another great possibility for an Invincible video game is a Marvel Ultimate Alliance-style beat-em-up game. Here, players could forge their own team of iconic Guardians of the Globe characters, and take to the streets to battle enemies from a top-down isometric perspective, swapping between characters as they use their own unique set of powers to defeat the horde of enemies on screen. A fighting game is another great idea for an Invincible video game spinoff, letting players duke it out as their favorite characters on either a 2D or 3D plane. If Omni-Man ends up coming to Mortal Kombat 1 just like the leaks say, then the precedent for an Invincible fighting game will already be there.

Invincible: Guarding the Globe is in development for Mobile devices.
