Part of what makes Far Cry characters, particularly villains, great is that they deliver some of the best lines. Far Cry 6's Antón Castillo, the fascist president, proved so with his society grenade analogy speech in the game's cinematic trailer. The content of what they say, the way it's delivered, and how it highlights the character are some of the elements that make Far Cry character lines stand out. Some lines are really popular with the Far Cry player base because of the way they leave a lasting impact.

If the move Taken has "I will find you, and I will kill you," Far Cry has "Have I ever told you the definition of insanity?" and a lot more other golden lines. With Far Cry 6 releasing in 2021, here is a look at some of the franchise's most iconic lines.

10 Father

Far-Cry-5-Joseph-Seed

"I am your Father, and you are My Child" - Joseph Seed; Far Cry 5.

After the player kills Joseph's siblings and puts an end to his cult's twisted ways, the player never actually gets to kill Joseph.

Instead, when presented with the option to capture him, an atomic bomb goes off. The player survives and Joseph takes his injured body into the bunker. With an intent stare into the deputy's eyes, the Father says "I should kill you for what you've done. But you're all I have left now. You're my family." He then says that he will be the deputy's father, and he, his child. The intent stare follows a fade to black as it dawns on the players that they will be trapped with the Father for a long time.

9 Urki Fly

Far-Cry-Primal-Urki-Looking-At-Feather

"Tu Urki patash, Tu Urki patash" - Urki; Far Cry Primal.

What happens when a modern American speaks prehistoric Proto-Indo-European? The answer is Urki's lines. Taking place in 10,000 BCE, Urki comes along and pronounces the prehistoric era's language with a present-day twang.

The result is a dialect that comes across like a drunk speaking gibberish. The player is sent on a mission to gather feathers for Urki, thinking it would make him fly. Before sending the player out, Urki says "You help Urki make feathers, then Urki fly. Then Urki fly!" Which sounds like "...tu Urki patash. Tu Urki patash!" After getting the feathers, Urki proceeded to jump off a cliff only to fall into a stack of hay.

8 Cull The Herd

Far-Cry-5-Jacob-Seed-Staring

"Cull the herd" - Jacob Seed; Far Cry 5.

Jacob believes that weakness has plagued humanity enough. His philosophy is that weakness has been allowed to live among men for so long that it has made the present generation shabby. Jacob sees mass slaughter as a countermeasure to humanity growing weak; hence "cull the herd."

To 'cull' is to selectively slaughter weak and defect animals so that the next generation remains strong. Throughout manslaughter missions, the deputy will constantly hear "cull the herd" as whispered by Jacob in the player's head, along with bloodlust screams like "kill kill kill!"

7 Welcome To The Bliss

Far-Cry-5-Faith-Seed-Holding-Hand

"Welcome to the Bliss" - Faith Seed; Far Cry 5.

Faith is the sweetest gentle soul any gamer can possibly encounter. However, this facade hides a darker purpose. Faith Seed is full of wonder and life, and her drug ensures everyone feels that way as well. Her drugged followers enter a happy world. A safe haven where no one is ever sad.

Faith is a zombie master, manipulating her people into doing whatever she wishes them to do. Upon drugging the player, Faith welcomes the player with a cheerful smile saying "Welcome to the bliss."

6 How Stupid?

Far-Cry-3-Hoyt-Leaning-In

"How stupid do you think I am?" - Hoyt; Far Cry 3.

In Far Cry 3, Jason Brody and Sam are invited for a poker game with game antagonist Hoyt. Sam tells Jason that he has hidden a knife in his boot, and instructs him to distract Hoyt when Sam says "deal." This plan opens Hoyt to be stabbed by Sam.

After the river card of the first round has been revealed, Sam and Jason reveal their cards. Hoyt reveals his own cards and immediately stabs Sam in the neck with a knife. Hoyt laughs and then bursts out "How stupid do you think I am!?" After which, Hoyt threatens to cut each of Jason's fingers for each poker round he loses.

5 Rat

Far-Cry-5-John-Seed-Tattoo

"It's supposed to say 'wrath,' not 'rat'" - John Seed; Far Cry 5.

John Seed is the closest thing to Vaas in Far Cry 5. He is an insane psychopath who teaches the player about the value of 'Yes.' Though he has many lines on atonement and confession, his most prominent line comes as he tattoos the deputy's sin on his skin.

In writing 'Wrath,' the player squirms in agony and tries to escape. To this, John responds with "Hold still. It's supposed to say 'wrath,' not 'rat.'" After this, he continues his work while giving the player a lecture on sin.

4 God Will Not Let You Take Me

Far-Cry-5-Joseph-Looking-To-Player

"God will not let you take me" - Joseph Seed; Far Cry 5.

At the beginning of Far Cry 5, a task force is assigned to capture Joseph Seed. As Joseph Seed is greeted by the group, he tells his cult to go, allowing the task force to capture him. Joseph says "God will not let you take me," as he offers the player his hands to be cuffed. He is then escorted to the chopper.

Seeing their leader being taken away, Joseph's cult rushes into the chopper's blades causing the system to malfunction while in the air. Joseph survives the crash with the taskforce badly injured. Afterward, Joseph stares into the player, alive and well, and then says "I told you God wouldn't let you take me."

3 Run Forrest!

"Run Forrest! Ruuun!" - Vaas; Far Cry 3.

The crazy lunatic Vaas is never short of his spiking moments in Far Cry 3. Upon capturing Jason and his friends, Vaas stares them down and gives them a speech on their hopeless state. When Jason and his brother Grant escape their cages, Vaas spots them and kills Grant, sparing Jason.

The pirate then looks at Jason, impressed with their valiant attempts, and says "I like that, no. I respect that. I'm gonna give you 30 seconds and if this jungle doesn't eat you up alive, I will. Go, go. What are you f*cking deaf? I said get the f*ck outta here you chicken f*ck! Run Forrest, run!"

2 Crab Rangoon

Far-Cry-4-Pagan-Min-Pink-Suit

"Stay here, enjoy the Crab Rangoon, don't move, I'll be right back" - Pagan Min; Far Cry 4.

As Ajay travels to Kyrat to scatter his mom's ashes, Pagan's army captures him and his "plus one." Pagan and Paul arrange dinner for the captured duo. The dinner is interrupted by the Golden Path forces. Before Pagan leaves to attend to the matter, he tells the player "Terrorists right? Now, please, stay right here. Enjoy the Crab Rangoon. Don't move. I will be right back."

The player then sneaks out of the palace to rendevous with the Golden Path. One adventurous revolution later, Ajay confronts Pagan in his palace to kill him. Holding the dictator at gunpoint, Pagan responds to the player his exact words at the start of the game. "What were my exact words? Ah. 'STAY here, ENJOY the crab rangoon, don't MOVE, I'll be right back.'" Surprisingly enough, if the player had just stayed put at the start of the game, it would trigger a secret cutscene where Pagan accompanies Ajay to help scatter his mom's ashes.

1 Insanity

Far-Cry-3-Vaas-Pointing

"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting sh*t to change" - Vaas; Far Cry 3

Vaas' insanity speech isn't just the most iconic scene in the Far Cry franchise, but it also is one of the best in gaming. This philosophical scene is delivered with passion and anger by the great Vaas Montenegro. That, and the food-for-thought the lines actually bring.

After capturing Jason again for the nth time, Vaas gives Jason a speech on doing things over and over again, showing amusement at Jason's foiled repetitive actions. As he delivers the speech, Vaas grows angrier and angrier until he blows up. He concludes his speech by pushing a cinderblock that will anchor Jason under the water, leaving him to drown.
