All the way back in 2002, EA published the Krome Studios platformer Ty the Tasmanian Tiger. The game earned somewhat mixed reviews from critics, but it still managed to be a financial success, selling over 1 million copies and spawning three sequels. Krome Studios eventually remastered Ty the Tasmanian Tiger for PC in 2016, and now it has brought Ty the Tasmanian Tiger HD to the Nintendo Switch.

Ty the Tasmanian Tiger HD is available on the Nintendo Switch now, boasting improved visuals, with updated graphics and frame rate. Ty the Tasmanian Tiger HD also includes a new game mode called Hardcore Mode, new character skins, and an Audio Director's Cut for fans as well. It is currently available through the Switch eShop for $29.99, and will also be making its way to PS4 and Xbox One at some point as well.

For the uninitiated, Krome Studios was able to bring Ty the Tasmanian Tiger HD to the Nintendo Switch thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign. The funds raised during that Kickstarter campaign will allow the studio to produce Ty the Tasmanian Tiger HD PS4 and Xbox One ports as well, though they will be coming at a later, unannounced date.

If Ty the Tasmanian Tiger HD is a success, it will be interesting to see if the sequels are remastered by Krome Studios as well. Fans of the quirky platformer franchise will have to stay tuned for more information on that front.

Ty the Tasmanian Tiger HD is out now for PC and Nintendo Switch, with PS4 and Xbox One versions also in development.
