The streaming world introduces gamers to an audience where they can build up a community, entertain viewers and gain visibility through showcasing their personality, however for Twitch streamer xChocobars, the negatives have caused her to announce a retirement from In Real Life streams forever. Her announcement should come as no surprise after several unfortunate incidents while streaming live on Twitch forced her hand.

In Real Life streams, or IRL streams as referenced in the streaming community, are streams involving an individual tending to their daily activities or when they choose to go out into the world and enjoy activities, either alone or with a group. As innocent as the streams may be, those who choose to hold them aren't void of any real-life danger, such as being verbally or physically attacked, or cases like Russian streamer chaikinna having her phone stolen mid-broadcast.

During a YouTube broadcast, xChocobars re-tells some of the more horrifying incidents that she experiences while streaming to her audience. In one case, she recounts the time she was walking under a bridge when a vehicle slowed down near her, in an attempt to gain her attention. The thought of being alone as a female in a secluded area with a stranger in a car scared her enough to run away from the situation. It wouldn't be the first time a streamer is harassed while conducting an IRL stream, as one year ago Twitch streamer MissyPla was verbally harassed during an IRL stream while riding in a subway station in Thailand.

The recent announcement of xChocobars quitting IRL streams is another example of how female content creators feel threatened in the world, and she isn't alone either. Earlier this year, Twitch streamer Emiru retired from IRL streaming, stating that the incidents piling up and stream sniping resulted in her retirement from the practice. In xChcobars case, she explains how unlucky she has been in life, telling a story of a time when she was younger, a complete stranger attempted to pick her up at the daycare she attended, claiming she was the mother. "When things like this happen, I'm just like 'Yeah, I'm not going to risk it.,'" she explained, while playing a round of Among Us with her friends.

Unfortunately, there's no telling who they can run into at any given time, and the dangers of IRL streaming are very real. One story involved a time when xChcobars wasn't streaming at all, but a stranger in Las Vegas began shouting her full name, asking where she was despite her not being in the city at the time of the incident. The extent of the danger has gone so far that one case involved streamer gogirl_TV being mugged at knife point while streaming. Luckily for xChocobars, the threats never escalated beyond that point, and she may be wise with the decision she made in order to protect herself from any potential harm in the future.
