A user on Twitch has spent the last few years going through all the games that were available for the N64 console in the US. While the Switch is currently having a great year, and the Wii was a phenomenal success at the start of the millennium, many older gamers will likely have fond memories of the Nintendo 64, the cartridge-based system that managed to stand out in an era that was moving towards disc-based machines.

Completing all the games released for the console is quite the feat. At the time the N64 came out, it had a roster of titles that helped shape the move into 3D gaming, such as Mario 64 and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the latter of which has gone down as one of the greatest video games of all time. In general, the 90s was a strong time for the industry, which up until that point was still finding its feet. Things had progressed from the likes of the SNES and Genesis being considered toys or gadgets for young boys, and advancements in technology, as well as a greater interest in development, meant that games themselves were becoming more in-depth.

Of course, these heady days are now considered retro, but it hasn't stopped streamer Acegamesam from completing this mammoth task. According to a report from The Gamer, it has taken the content creator more than five and a half years, representing 296 games completed. It should be stated at this point that the entire library of Nintendo 64 games was closer to 400, but some of them were exclusive to the Japanese market. As such, Acegamesam opted to play all the games that were made available in the US. But completing nearly 300 games is still a magnificent achievement.

This obviously includes all the more obscure titles, as well as the popular ones, such as the aforementioned Ocarina of Time and Mario releases. And yes, this list also includes Superman 64, which was considered one of the worst video games of its era, certainly of the N64's lifetime.

Then of course, there's the opposite of that. GoldenEye 007 is hugely beloved by gamers, and sits up there with the likes of Half-Life and Doom as one of the most innovative FPS games of all time. Given just these two examples, it seems that there would have been some highs and lows when the streamer came to finishing all the games, but they must feel a great sense of relief having now reached the end of their Nintendo 64 collection.
