As one of its main goals for the year, the popular streaming platform Twitch has announced its plans to help give streamers more earning opportunities. In addition to more ways for creators to make money, Twitch will also be making changes to the way its ads system works.

For many gamers, making a living streaming video games is the opportunity of a lifetime. Since some have become internet superstars thanks to live-streaming, there are many out there who are striving to make a living off playing games. With the platform's monetization policies, a few content creators have made big bucks from streaming, creating fan bases that occasionally aspire to have similar careers. Thankfully, it appears that one of Twitch's main goals for this year is to make it easier for creators and streamers to make money through their content.

In a post on its official blog, Twitch listed a variety of different ways streamers will be able to earn more through the platform's new updates. The blog post gave some slightly vague insight into how Twitch plans to build upon events like SUBtember and update features like Cheering that will give streamers and viewers a more personalized experience. Since Twitch was previously rumored to cut monetization, this message from the service should be reassuring for many users.

One of the most exciting points from the blog post was the announcement of new tools that Twitch will be implementing. A feature called Pinned Clips will allow creators to pin twenty different clips on their channel to help give viewers a quick idea of what a streamer has to offer. Additionally, an exciting new tool will be Stream Title emotes, allowing streamers to add emotes to the titles of their streams. There will also be long-awaited updates to the Ads Manager which will allow streamers to have more control over when ads run on their streams, and a new focus will be put on Twitch Turbo for those who have viewers that wish for ad-free viewing.

With some streamers leaving Twitch for other platforms due to their dislike of its monetization policies and reported lack of support, this update may encourage creators who left the platform to return. Every few months there seems to be a new Twitch controversy that causes its users and affiliates to question the company's decisions. From waiting too long to put an end to gambling content to a constant news stream of popular streamers being banned, sometimes Twitch isn't seen in the best light. Hopefully, these updates will provide creators and viewers a more positive experience on the platform that allows them to become more lucrative streamers.
