Turtle Beach has announced its acquisition of PDP, a competing third-party peripherals brand. While most gamers are probably familiar with Turtle Beach for its long-running line of headsets, PDP has mainly focused on third-party controllers for platforms like the Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox.

PDP has some exciting projects in the works, such as its Fortnite Festival guitar controller that's reminiscent of the ones released for Guitar Hero and Rock Band. The PDP Riffmaster is set to be released sometime this spring and includes interesting features like a removable pickguard that can be replaced with custom ones later on. PDP's controller will be officially supported by Fortnite Festival, which was developed by Harmonix, the creator of the previously mentioned rhythm games.

Fans might remember this explosion in popularity when the 2000s' multiplayer console boom saw other gaming accessory companies, like Astro, grow as well. Turtle Beach's $200 Stealth Ultra features a dynamic display screen that allows the user to mix sound, view social media notifications, customize colors, and more.

The $20 discount has since concluded, but the headset still sits at a pretty reasonable price of $119 while including most of the features that fans have come to expect in modern gaming headsets.
