Turbo Golf Racing seems to be an amalgamation of Rocket League and the sport of golf. Blending super fast vehicles and golf with the ultimate goal of getting the giant futuristic golf ball down the stage to the hole in as quick as time as possible, hopefully etching out the opposition along the way. A frenetic and intense game, Turbo Golf Racing aims to keep players invested with an easy-to-pick-up and-play experience and plenty of progression.

Worry not, there are some super helpful tips and tricks to get budding rocket-powered golfers up to speed. This is not a team game which means any tips and tricks can be mastered as a solo player against rivals in a given match. While practice certainly makes perfection in a game like this, the following beginner tips and tricks should help out quite a bit.

8 Speed Is Your Friend

First and foremost, Turbo Golf Racing is a game about golf, namely, getting the golf ball to the end of the stage as quickly and efficiently as possible, in hopes of getting 1st place with the fastest time. It should come as no surprise then that speed is the name of the game here. Fortunately, the rocket-powered cars are blazingly fast with plenty of options to boost along the way.

Each stage layout is quite different with some just funneling players down a standard A to B path, however, others are more intricate and offer multi-layered paths to get to the hole at the end. No matter which stage comes up next in the queue, be sure to prioritize speed over anything else.

7 Seek Out Item Pickups

Interestingly, Turbo Golf Racing also features powerups that players would find in most kart racers. The powerups in this game are more simple and minimal but can still be game-changing when used correctly. Pickups are easily denoted in the environment with large cartoony visuals. Pickups can make or break a player's run in a given stage.

Pickups and powerups come in the form of homing rockets, shields, and boost bottles. Each of these powerups can be used to gain an advantage during a golfing round. Homing rockets will target a rival and stun them, shields guard players from rocket hits, and boost bottles refill the boost bar.

6 The Ball Guide Is Very Handy

While it might sound quite obvious, it still deserves to be mentioned; the ball guide is very handy and will show players where the ball will go when hit. This dynamic ball guide can quickly change depending on the angle at which the rocket-powered car is heading toward it.

While the ball guide can be turned off from the settings menu, to do so would severely inhibit the experience since it can really help provide guidance during the frenetic races to the golf hole. Keep the ball guide in view in order to see where the ball will land upon striking it.

5 When In Doubt, Reset

Simply put, it's very easy to make mistakes in this game. Whether that be from veering off course to getting hit by a rocket and losing speed to knocking the ball in the opposite direction, it's easy to miss the mark. Fortunately, the game gives players the option to reset their vehicle and the golf ball.

Doing so might sound like a hindrance but it can actually be quicker than driving back up the course to get to where the ball might be. While the camera can be changed to spot the ball, resetting is typically the best option for getting back into the race more efficiently. Plus, the boost meter gets refilled after resetting so that's a major plus.

4 Prioritize Unlocking Cores

One of the more interesting and nuanced components of Turbo Golf Racing's gameplay is the addition of active and passive cores. These cores can be unlocked and equipped from the main menu and give players a nice little boost both actively and passively, depending on which ones are equipped.

There are plentiful cores to unlock during playtime. Some can be unlocked in the solo mode whereas others require specific feats to be achieved in the multiplayer game. Fortunately, the game clearly tells players how to unlock each one. Some cores provide buffs to hitting the ball from further away or achieving higher boost speeds, for example.

3 Practice And Earn Stars In Solo Mode

Turbo Golf Racing made the smart move of adding a complete solo mode to the game. The solo mode allows players to enjoy a variety of courses and timed challenges set across three different biomes. The solo mode is largely just a massive practice mode to get used to flying down the stages and hitting the ball successfully, however, earning stars in the mode can go towards unlocking cores.

Before hopping into online lobbies, it's not a bad idea to go through a few of the fairly challenging solo mode races. These solo challenges will give most players a good understanding of how the golf races work in this game.

2 Jump, Flip, And Spin To Earn Boost

Another unique gameplay mechanic in Turbo Golf Racing is the ability to jump and glide at any point during a race. Yep, these rocket-powered cars can soar through the skies with precision all the while boosting, flipping, and spinning to add some flourish and flair to a golf race.

Doing these amazing feats isn't just for show, however. Jumping and soaring can provide a much-needed speed boost in order to get to a golf ball more effectively. Plus, the boost meter gets refilled upon a successful flip or spin.

1 Keep An Eye Out For Warp Rings

On top of boost trails, jumps, and item pickups, the game also throws glowing warp rings at the player. These hard-to-reach rings are denoted by their large glowing auras and are littered all across the game's various racing stages. Hitting one of these warp rings either launches the ball, the player, or both towards the hole in rapid fashion.

While it might be tough lining up a jump or golf ball shot towards these warp rings, the game always rewards players who do so with a better chance at getting to the hole first.
