The Talos Principle 2 has been released to a highly positive reception from fans and critics alike, with the game's tricky puzzles and philosophical ponderings both being a source of praise. Like any good puzzle game, The Talos Principle 2 has a real knack for making players feel like an idiot one minute and then a genius the next. This is often because the game's puzzles look deceivingly simple at first glance, but in reality, a well-thought-out combination of placements and connections is needed to reach the end of the stage.

A prime example of this is Alternative Option, the fourth level in the Grasslands Ring area. The level looks simple enough upon initial entry, as the exit's Energy Gate has a green Light Receiver, and there are both red and blue Light Generators sitting conveniently beside each other. However, players will soon realize that the stage is going to be a challenge, as a wall blocks the path of the connections, and although there's a fan, players can't complete an RGB connection while holding a Converter in mid-air. Thankfully, a smooth combination can make everything run like clockwork.

The first puzzle in Grasslands Ring introduces a new puzzle mechanic. Here's how to solve it.

How to Solve Alternative Option (Grasslands Ring Puzzle 4)

Player in mid-air while aiming RGB Converter at red Light Receiver

Firstly, go ahead and grab the RGB Converter that is freely available. Then, turn the switch on and step onto the fan, which will now be active. Stepping on the fan will take the player into the air, letting them select the blue and red Light Generators, which will turn the RGB Converter green. Players can also select the green Light Receiver, which may make it seem that the stage is done and dusted; however, players can't make the connection while holding the RGB Converter in the air.

Drop the RGB Converter and turn off the switch - which will deactivate the fan - and then go to the Hexahedron (box) and place it on the fan. Now, head to the RGB Converter and be sure to select the Keep Connections option when picking it up, which will ensure that the RGB Converter is still green when players grab it.

Put the Converter on the Hexahedron, turn the switch on, and the connections will be made when the box lifts the Converter into the air, opening the Energy Gate. Head through the gate and finish the level by selecting the Progress Wheel.
