Currently, Traveller's Tales is working on the next game in its LEGO franchise, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. It will bring together the entire Skywalker Saga into one game, with nine different movies all being recreated with LEGOs. The game will serve as the definitive Star Wars experience and will bring with it some of the biggest changes to the LEGO formula. After it hits store shelves, Traveller's Tales will be looking to what comes next, and it should consider making a sequel to LEGO Jurassic World.

LEGO Jurassic World launched in 2015 alongside the first Jurassic World film. It adapted the Jurassic Park trilogy and the first Jurassic World movie in fun-filled LEGO fashion. However, since its release, there has been two more Jurassic World movies, one of which is releasing this June, as well as a short film and a four-season long Netflix show. That is hours of Jurassic Park content that has not yet received a LEGO adaptation, and Traveller's Tales should rectify that.

What LEGO Jurassic World Looked Like

LEGO Jurassic World released in 2015 and brought players to fully explorable LEGO versions of Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna. They are able to explore both the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World versions of Isla Nublar. They would then play through 20 different levels based on the Jurassic Park trilogy and the first Jurassic World film, and each movie had five levels associated with it. As they progressed through the story, gamers would unlock iconic characters like Ian Malcom, Owen Grady, and Dr. Alan Grant as well as the real-life directors Colin Trevorrow and Steven Spielberg.

One of the best aspects of LEGO Jurassic World was the ability to unlock and play as the dinosaurs. In certain areas around the hub worlds, players could take control of one of over 20 different dinosaurs and cause havoc. They could play as a Triceratops, a T-Rex, a Stegosaurus, and even the Indominus Rex. Using the character creator, players are able to create their own hybrid dinosaurs just like the owners of Jurassic World did.

The story of LEGO Jurassic World utilized full voice acting from the movies, but Traveller's Tales had to change the plots of each movie to make them more kid-friendly. Instead of characters getting eaten by dinosaurs, they would get injured. Various scenes from the movie were also changed to be more humorous, like the addition of a Velociraptor drawing a smiley face on a window. It was chock-full of the typical LEGO humor that makes people of all ages laugh.

What LEGO Jurassic World 2 Could Look Like

Since the release of LEGO Jurassic World, the Jurassic Park franchise has seen a host of new content. Not only did Jurassic World receive two more movies, but Netflix launched an animated show called Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous and a short live-action film was released called Battle at Big Rock. Hours of content has been added to the Jurassic Park franchise canon that has yet to be explored in LEGO fashion, and if LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga can adapt the entire Star Wars saga, then a LEGO Jurassic World 2 could adapt the entire Jurassic Park story.

LEGO Jurassic World 2 could take the hub worlds and mechanics of the first title but expand upon them using Traveller's Tales new Hub world designs. Instead of offering a smaller scale version of Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna, Traveller's Tales could create larger scale versions on the level of Gotham City in LEGO DC SuperVillians and the planets in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. The game could also include the new islands from Camp Cretaceous as well as the locales from Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and wherever Jurassic World: Dominion takes place. It could also expand dinosaurs so that instead of relegating them to small parts of the hub world, players could take full control of them and destroy the island.

The characters that LEGO Jurassic World 2 contains would be the same ones from LEGO Jurassic World, but with an expanded roster that includes characters from Camp Cretaceous, Fallen Kingdom, Dominion, and Battle at Big Rock. While Jurassic Park does not have the same number of iconic characters that Star Wars or DC has, Traveller's Tales will no doubt be able to find some to fill the roster.

With a huge roster of characters, levels based on the entire Jurassic Park story, and drastically improved Hub worlds, a LEGO Jurassic World 2 could be the perfect title for Jurassic Park fans. Using what Traveller's Tales has learned over these past years, it could craft one of the best dinosaur games in a while and a worthy successor to LEGO Jurassic World.
