For many players, a huge part of the fun of video games is the ability to take on a life that isn't their own. Being able to fly on the back of a dragon or lay siege to an orcish castle is great, but these activities are even more exciting when the player gets to do them with a character they've customized to perfection.

Tower Of Fantasy has an incredibly deep character customization system, allowing players to create original characters, use characters created by others in the community, or even customize community creations to their own liking. The wealth of options this system affords players is incredible, but it's easy to get a little lost in it all. Here's everything the player needs to know about customizing characters in Tower of Fantasy.

How To Customize A Character

The basics of customizing a character in Tower of Fantasy function exactly the way they do in most games. The Character Creation screen presents players with a multitude of item selections and body attribute sliders which can be adjusted to achieve the desired look. Whether it's altering the character's eye or hair color, giving them glasses, a mask, or some epic anime eyebrows, or changing their physical proportions, all of this can easily be done from the Character Creation screen.

Even after the player has finished customizing the character, they can still change their appearance later by buying the appropriate appearance modifier from the Item Shop for 150 Dark Crystals. The player can then select the Outfit icon at the bottom of the character screen to change their appearance after character creation.

The character customization in Tower of Fantasy is truly impressive, but it's worth mentioning that it isn't all available to players from the very beginning. Many cosmetics are locked at first and will need to be unlocked through exploration or purchased in order to be accessible to new characters. This restriction isn't a major barrier, as a ton of great cosmetic options are unlocked by default.

How To Import A Pre-Set Character

If the player doesn't feel like coming up with an original character or just wants a premade starting point, they can use a character built by another player. This character can either be used as-is or customized, letting the player tweak an existing model to resemble a favorite anime character without having to build them from scratch.

To use a pre-set character, click on the Lobby button on the character customization screen and then select Popularity Vote to begin sorting through pre-made characters. The community has already created some dead-ringers for popular characters from anime like Naruto, so if the player wants to play a certain character but doesn't want to go to the trouble of building them from the ground up, this is the way to do it. The character can also press the Save button in the top-right corner of a character's portrait to Save that Wanderer in the My Favorites tab for later.

To copy another Wanderer, select the desired Wanderer and then select Copy Character ID. Once the character has been copied, the player can customize it by selecting the Appearance tab on the left side of the Character Creation screen and then changing the desired features. Note that Tower of Fantasy doesn't allow the player to copy Wanderers who are of a different gender than the player's current character, though the player can purchase an item that will allow them to change their character's gender.

Tower of Fantasy is now available for PC, Android, and iOS.
