The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom features a wide variety of side quests for Link to complete while taking a break from his usual hero work. The vast open world of Hyrule is filled to the brim with small adventures just waiting for Link to stumble across them. While many of these tasks offer little in the way of reward, it is the incredibly rewarding stories that make them work seeking out. "The Six Dragons," one of Tears of the Kingdom's many side quests, is a perfect example of this idea at work.

"The Six Dragons" is part of a series of small quests that Link will encounter at the Thyphlo Ruins, a small region in northern Hyrule that features multiple Zonai structures in various states of disrepair. This guide will take Link through every step of the quest, ultimately solving the puzzle that gives the quest its name.

How to Begin "The Six Dragons" in Tears of the Kingdom

To begin this quest, Link will first need to initiate the "Investigate the Thyphlo Ruins" side adventure. To do this, simply speak to Kazul near his tent (0371, 3097, 0174), which sits in the southeast corner of the same square that houses the Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower.

Kazul will show Link a series of four stone tablets, each of which begins a separate side adventure. Starting from the left, Link will need to read the third tablet to begin "The Six Dragons." The tablet says the following:

Display the power of the Sage of Water in the presence of the Six Dragons.

As the quest clearly calls for the power used by Sidon, the sage of water, Link will not be able to complete this side adventure until he has completed " Sidon of the Zora ."

Knowing that the Sage of Water is Sidon, the first step to completing this task is to make sure Link has him summoned and ready to use his power. The second step is found in the clue that Kazul gives Link when reading the tablet:

"There was a small ring of dragon-head statues somewhere, wasn't there?"

With this information, Link will know he needs to find a ring of six dragon-head statues somewhere in the Thyphlo Ruins. While it isn't easy to tell from the map, as the heads don't make a clear ring, the desired location is found in the northwest corner of the ruins. The six dragons sit in a circle, surrounded by a small pit of sludge.

To complete the puzzle, Link will need to apply Sidon's water shield, stand in the center of the ring of dragon heads, and perform a charge attack with any weapon type. Regular attacks do not seem to trigger the solution. Link will know he has performed the correct action when the standard 'solution chime' plays, just as it does in shrines.

Aside from the chime, Link will also see a chamber rise from the ground just beyond the ring of heads. The chest inside will contain five opals. Collecting this reward will conclude "The Six Dragons." Link is free to complete the remaining quests in "Investigate the Thyphlo Ruins" at any time and in any order he sees fit. Remember, just like "The Six Dragons," the other quests require the power of a different Sage.
