In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Link is armed (literally) with a range of powerful skills to assist him during his journey across Hyrule. One such ability is the Ultrahand, which grants him the capability to create creative and sometimes wacky constructs. These constructs serve multiple purposes, including puzzle-solving, combat, and enhanced mobility, allowing Link to navigate his surroundings with flair and effectiveness.

Despite the availability of new powers, players will frequently rely on traditional methods of travel while exploring Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. As the vast land necessitates extensive swimming, even with an expanded stamina wheel, it remains challenging to reach destinations without succumbing to fatigue.

In the game's main story, Link has the opportunity to acquire the essential Zora Armor from adventures in Zora's Domain. This armor significantly boosts Link's swimming speed and even allows him to ascend waterfalls and attack while swimming. In Zora’s Domain, players can also obtain the Vah Ruta Divine Helm, which provides a bonus to Swim Speed as well.

However, before obtaining the Zora Armor or the Vah Ruta Divine Helm, and even after, players may find it beneficial to stock up on food that enhances Link's Swim Speed for those long swims in Tears of the Kingdom. To create such a meal, players will need to prepare and cook the recipe for Rapid Simmered Fruit. Here's a guide on where to find the ingredients required to make this recipe and boost Link’s Swim Speed in Tears of the Kingdom.

In Tears of the Kingdom, there is only one cooked meal that can enhance Link's Swim Speed: Rapid Simmered Fruit. To prepare this dish, players will need to use 3 to 5 Splash Fruit as their ingredients. Cooking can be done using either a Cooking Pot or the Zonai Portable Pot. By combining the 5 Splash Fruit, players can create a single serving of this prepared dish with its maximum buff duration of 10 minutes.

The Rapid Simmered Fruit cooked dish offers a notable benefit to Link in Tears of the Kingdom. When consumed, it restores two and a half hearts and bestows upon him an impressive Swim Speed boost that lasts for 6 to 10 minutes, depending on how many Splash Fruit were used. This boost provides a significant advantage, especially when exploring the highly aquatic region of Zora's Domain. The Swim Speed boost from Rapid Simmered Fruit will also stack with the effects of the Zora Armor, further amplifying its effects.

To cook the Rapid Simmered Fruit meal in Tears of the Kingdom, a minimum of 3 Splash Fruits is required. This will provide a 6-minute increase in Swim Speed. However, adding the 4th and 5th fruit will extend the duration, with each fruit contributing an additional 2 minutes. To fully maximize the benefit, it is recommended to cook the dish with all five fruits, as it grants the maximum duration of 10 minutes for the Swim Speed increase effect.

To cook Rapid Simmered Fruit, the sole ingredient needed is Splash Fruit. These fruits can be found growing on small trees scattered throughout Hyrule. Each tree produces three Splash Fruits. These trees can be recognized by their yellow leaves featuring the fruits as green and blue gourds hanging from the branches.

Contrary to their name, Splash Fruit can be found not only near bodies of water but also scattered across the plains and hills of Hyrule's landscape. Players can discover a considerable number of Splash Fruit trees in the West Necluda region, particularly in proximity to the Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower and near the Lanayru Great Spring in the Lanayru region.

In Tears of the Kingdom, Splash Fruit serves multiple purposes beyond its role in cooking. These versatile fruits can produce water, which proves useful in solving various puzzles throughout the game. Furthermore, they play a vital role in unlocking the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower, an important milestone in the game's progression.
