Strategy game streamer PartyElite has revealed some information about an upcoming Total War Saga: Troy DLC which will add the all female team, the Amazon faction, to the game. In his video, PartyElite explains that while having early access to the game, he was able to explore a little bit of what was to come in the future.

Total War Saga: Troy has marked an increase in representation for the franchise, which in the past was shackled by historical realism and the whims of fans. Adding the Amazons is a great way to balance the need for female representation in the game as well as historical realism.

For the most part, the Amazon faction will be very similar to other Total War factions aside from a few unique units and buildings. PartyElite does elaborate and say that the Amazon units tend to focus on ranged combat, but they still have access to calvary and melee units.

The video above describes everything in much greater detail, but overall it seems that the Amazon faction will be unique way of handling gender and should satisfy fans across the board for the most part. As always, there will be detractors, but this seems like a much needed step in the right direction.

Total War Saga: Troy releases August 13th for PC.
