StudioCanal is reissuing director Paul Verhoeven's Total Recall on 4K Blu-Ray for its 30th anniversary. The 4K reissue of the Arnold Schwarzenegger science fiction action hit is currently scheduled to be released on November 23rd.

The restored edition of Total Recall will be available in a 5-disc 4K Ultra-HD Collector's Edition that includes a double-sided poster, 6 art cards, a 48-page booklet, and the soundtrack by composer Jerry Goldsmith on CD. At this time, StudioCanal's 4K Collector's Edition of Total Recall is only available to pre-order in the UK at Amazon and Zavii. However, Lionsgate is releasing a standard copy of Total Recall on 4K + Digital Blu-ray as well as a Steelbook edition available in the U.S. on December 8th, 2020.

"I just saw the 4K presentation of my movie and it’s absolutely wonderful what Studiocanal and the restoration team have done. There is so much detail you could say it is three-dimensional. Bravo! I hope many people go and see this movie," Verhoven said of the remastered edition during an interview with Empire. The outlet also unveiled an official trailer for the 4K release of Total Recall, offering moviegoers a taste of high-quality picture and sound for the reissued version. Below is a list of the bonus material that will be included with all versions of the 4K release.

Based on the short story "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale" by Philip K. Dick, Total Recall transports audiences to the year 2084 and follows Schwarzenegger as a construction worker named Douglas Quaid as he tries to find the reason behind his recurring dream about Mars. However, Quaid's search for answers leads to him being pursued by people who he learns had a false memory planted into his brain and now want him dead. The cast of Total Recall also included Rachel Ticotin, Sharon Stone, Michael Ironside, and Ronny Cox.

The 4K edition of Total Recall will likely be a welcomed addition to the shelves of movie collectors. While the advent of streaming services may have dampened the demand for physical media, evidently there is still a market for collector's editions with exclusive merchandise.

If nothing else, revisiting Total Recall in glorious 4K could help erase the memory of the remake with Colin Farrell and Kate Beckinsale. Released in 2012, the Total Recall remake barely registered with audiences as evidenced by its poor box office performance.

Total Recall will be released on 4K Blu-ray on November 23rd, 2020.
