There are a few characters that a player will be able to choose and play as, and all of them offer a different play style. It is worth it for new players to know just what, exactly, they are getting into with each character (and how strong they all are).

5 Divineshot Carino

Torchlight Infinite - Spells

Divineshot Carino is a rather interesting type of character for many players of Torchlight: Infinite. There are quite a few players who are going to shine with him, but it is also worth noting that Carino is not a character for everyone - he tailors more toward a specific play style. Divineshot Carino is made to be a glass cannon unit - that is to say, he has very high damage, but can easily be bursted down in a few hits.

In a nutshell, Divineshot Carino is used for players who like using long-ranged attacks and high damage from a distance. He is for players who want to be a pure damage class. Divineshot Carino has all the hallmarks of a Damage Per Second (known as DPS) unit. He has high damage from a distance, and can consistently burst down enemies, but comes with the downside of low health and defense.

4 Commander Moto

Torchlight Infinite - Map

For players who want a more unique play style, Commander Moto should offer something for them to try out. Moto is essentially the summoner class in Torchlight: Infinite, but that is not the only thing that he has to offer.

Moto's damage mainly relies on the kinds of creatures that he can summon to aid him on the battlefield. From robots to armed mechs, Moto has a large range of units that he can bring to the battlefield - on top of this, these allies can boost the attack and defense of the rest of the team, too. The only problem is that Moto's own personal damage is a bit lacking (mainly due to the fact that most of his damage comes from the allies that he summons).

3 Spacetime Witness Youga

Torchlight Infinite - Fighting

For players who just want to have some fun with a rounded-out version of two classes at once, Spacetime Witness Youga is the character that players should turn to. He is a rather interesting blend of Commander Moto's skillset, while also having some of the gimmicks behind another character (that being Frostfire Gemma).

Essentially, Youga is used for players who want to have powerful magic attacks that deal damage against all enemies. Something interesting about Youga is the fact that all of his skills are time-based - he can stop enemies in their tracks or interrupt them in the middle of dealing damage. This makes him pretty strong when it comes to doing two things at once. However, it is worth noting that this makes him a jack of all trades and a master of none. If a player wants to specialize, it would be better to play one of the two other characters he is a fusion of.

2 Frostfire Gemma

Torchlight Infinite - Rocks

Frostfire Gemma is where Spacetime Witness Youga gets his AoE attacks from. If a player wants to play as a mage with strong elemental-based damage, then Gemma is the one that they should turn to for sure. She excels at high-damage spells that attack all enemies and combines both ice and fire to create insanely powerful attacks.

Gemma's main role is for wiping out large hordes of enemies from the back of the line. Gemma is not just limited to fire and ice, either - she can take on all sorts of elemental forms as well, in order to use all sorts of spells to her advantage. The only problem is that she is also a bit of a glass cannon as well, and cannot take a lot of hits.

1 Berserker Rehan

Torchlight Infinite - Blasting

Berserker Rehan has been agreed upon by many players to be one of the best units that a player could use in Torchlight: Infinite. He is widely considered to be the perfect starter character for players who are totally new to the game - and to the genre as well - and it is not very hard to see why. Berserker Rehan is basically an "easy mode" of sorts for players.

He has high damage, along with high health and defense - meaning he can easily start slashing through enemies, while only taking a little bit of damage in return. Rehan is a very fun character for players who are starting out in the game and need someone to learn the ropes with while they get used to all of the game's mechanics.

Torchlight: Infinite is available on Android, iOS, and Microsoft Windows.
