TopSpin 2K25 will be bringing back 2K's acclaimed tennis sim after 13 years of absence. With a release date set for the near future, many of TopSpin 2K25's features have already been revealed to fans.

The TopSpin franchise has been on the bench since 2011, with TopSpin 4 receiving solid reviews on PS3 and Xbox 360 but a mixed reception on the Wii thanks to poor motion control integration. The original TopSpin from 2003 birthed a healthy series of games, innovating on tennis games with an expanded control scheme and a variety of new mechanics, so there's certainly a market for a return from this dormancy. Fortunately for fans, TopSpin 2K25 was announced back in January of this year. The game will be arriving April 26, 2024 with a whole host of new features, bringing the franchise into the modern era after having missed an entire console generation.

All Features Confirmed For TopSpin 2K25 So Far

Online Play

TopSpin 2K25 is looking to have a robust online mode, which is nothing new for the TopSpin series. According to the game's official site, online play will allow fans to compete in weekly tournaments and rack up Tournament Points to climb the seasonal leaderboards. In addition, each season will also come with a 2K Tour leaderboard, where gamers can earn points by playing as tennis pros across random venues in the 2K Tour mode. There will also be a crossplay online exhibition mode outside the leaderboard system.

MyCAREER Mode

In addition to online play, TopSpin 2K25 will have a career mode where fans can create their own tennis pro in an effort to become Grand Slam champion. Players can create a unique tennis player with TopSpin 2K25's robust customization system, which will allow them to tailor their character's style to a granular level and modify their racket's attributes with Fittings. The mode will also come with an energy resource, forcing players to choose their tournament calendar carefully and avoid serious fatigue—a condition that will heighten the risk of serious injury. Luckily, support staff and coaches can be utilized to keep this fatigue in check.
