The collector's edition of the recently revealed Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 includes a full-sized skateboard deck alongside the game and some extra content. Hardcore skateboarding fans won't have to fork over too much cash to secure a Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 collector's edition, but it still costs considerably more than the base game.

Collector's editions typically come with some sort of physical item, like a statue or a map, but Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 takes things to the next level by offering a unique reward to anyone dedicated enough to purchase a more expensive edition of the game. Other in-game goodies come with the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 collector's edition as well, but the real draw here is the full-sized skateboard deck that features an iconic design.

The skateboard deck is decorated with a limited edition reissue of the Birdhouse Falcon 2 design, something that hardcore skaters are sure to recognize. The deck is also autographed by Tony Hawk himself, and it has randomized wood stains covering the top side. While the skateboard deck is the main attraction of the collector's edition, it also comes with the content from the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 digital deluxe edition, including unique retro content for the Create-A-Skater mode as well as 80s themed outfits for many of the game's playable skaters. Naturally, the collector's edition also comes with the full game. All of this will set you back $99.99, but the standard edition of the game without the extras can be acquired for just $39.99.

Revealed as a part of Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 is a complete remake of the first two games in the seminal skateboarding series. Even though the games receive a fresh coat of paint in the remake, the classic core gameplay remains the same. However, because times have changed since the games first released on the original PlayStation, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 features new gameplay modes that players have come to expect from modern games, including online multiplayer and more. It seems to be a faithful reimagining of the legendary skateboarding series that makes modern updates only where they're necessary.

Coming off of the awful Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5, this remake feels like a step in the right direction for the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater franchise. If it does well enough, other games in the series could get the remake treatment, or a new original game could even be made as a result. The remakes of Crash and Spyro have done really well for Activision, and it's likely that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 will do just as well.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 will launch on September 4 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
