The following contains spoilers for Episode 10 of Tomodachi Game, "The Third Game Is Over," now streaming on Crunchyroll.

The ninth episode followed Yuichi as he began employing his plan to destroy the relationships in Group K, even using Maria as one of his pawns. As part of his plan, Yuichi escaped two of Group K's members to deliver food to Mikasa, who had not eaten or consumed water in about five or six days.

Finally, Yuichi and Mikasa reunited as Yuichi accepted his trust. Meanwhile, one of Group K's members, Hyakutaro, asked Manabu to switch to Yuichi's group. Yuichi has been ten steps ahead, unbeknownst to the third game's participants.

Maria's Honey Trap

In the tenth episode, Yuichi begins telling Mikasa that he is setting a 'honey trap,' using Maria as the 'honey.' Like many hypothesized, this is why he had asked Manabu if their third teammate was a girl. Unsurprisingly, this plan to use Maria to destroy the relationships in Group K begins to work. Maria's intentional flirtatious behavior affects the relationship between Chisato and Hyakutaro, with the latter growing increasingly jealous and irritated by his friend. Maria is playing her role of seducing Hyakutaro by acting like a damsel in distress. As this goes on, Hyakutaro appears to fall for her even more.

When the members of Group K (excluding the hider) finally reconvene, Yuichi reappears at the camp. His seemingly irrational behavior appears as he throws an arm over Maria's shoulder as if he didn't push her off the cliff in the previous episode. Naturally, this irritates Hyakutaro, who has begun to harbor a sense of protectiveness over Maria. As Yuichi continues to provoke Hyakutaro, even stating that she 'belongs to him,' seeing as they are on the same team, Hyakutaro becomes enraged. However, Maria quickly stops him, exclaiming that Yuichi is just trying to get a rise out of him. Yuichi, who is putting on an act that is quite obvious to the viewers, grabs her hair in fury as tension rises within the base camp.

Tension Between Group K

As Maria cries in pain, Hyakutaro suddenly asks her to switch to Group K, but Chisato immediately stops him due to his suspicions. This leads to a heated argument between the two seeing as Hyakutaro refuses to believe that Maria is acting, despite Chisato's warnings. The two teammates continue to throw insults at one another until the fight slowly progresses. However, before it can turn physical, another Group K member (Kei) cuts in to defuse the tension and states that their Captain has the final say, anyway. Yuichi mocks the group again for needing their Captain's permission for everything. Before Kei could make the call, Hyakutaro tells him he'll speak to the Captain in person. Therefore, both Kei and Hyakutaro leave the camp.

Yuichi Recounts His Plan

Yuichi's meticulous plan to destroy the friendships in Group K appears to be working. Perhaps Group K's biggest mistake (and opportunity for Yuichi) is that the Captain is the hider. This choice may cost them the game because the Captain is the pillar of the team and, thus, the one who makes the decisions.

However, because he's been absent due to his role as the hider, it becomes easy for Yuichi to step in and cause chaos between Hyakutaro and Chisato, who have blatantly contrasting personalities. Yuichi speculates that the Captain will allow Maria to switch over, but Maria will ultimately decline as part of the plan and express that Yuichi is holding something (terrible) over her, which he believes will cause Hyakutaro to act with violence toward him. This would cause further friction between Group K, pushing Hyakutaro to join Group C.

Group C's New Member

Unfortunately for Group C, however, when Hyakutaro returns, he relates the Captain's decision: Maria is not allowed to switch teams. Their Captain suggests that if Hyakutaro wants to protect Maria, he should switch over to Group C. Yuichi seems taken aback, but knowing him, this could be a front he is putting up, seeing as he is always ten steps ahead of everyone.

Regardless, Hyakutaro switches to Group C, much to the dismay of his teammates. But before he can do anything, Yuichi ties him up. When they're alone, Maria apologizes to Hyakutaro and tells him Yuichi will do anything to get the hider's spot from him and that he's even murdered people in the past. This frightens Hyakutaro, who states he would tell Yuichi the information, but he doesn't know where the Captain is hidden.

The Truth

Yuichi steps in and asks Hyakutaro why he never visited the Captain. Hyakutaro explains that Kei relayed an issue, meaning they would have to call the Captain instead. Things appear to be clicking in Yuichi's mind because he calls Kei and confronts him. Yuichi realizes that the 'Captain' is not the Captain of the team. The true leader is Kei. After the call ends, Yuichi is left seemingly dejected because, unfortunately, Hyakutaro is a time bomb. If he explodes and acts violently toward the opposing team, Group C will lose.

Meanwhile, Maria walks off and encounters Kei, who asks her if she's with the game Management. He further asks her to betray Yuichi, which she accepts. She gets Mikasa's location from Yuichi, and when Kei finds him, the game ends. The ending of episode 10 is astounding and has stunned many Tomodachi Game viewers. The cliffhanger has left the fans with numerous questions, including but not limited to 'did Group C really win?' and 'Will Yuichi win with one of his secret plans?' The next episode will reveal the truth.
