Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One star Pom Klementieff revealed the one thing that Tom Cruise, famous for doing his own stunts to critical acclaim, absolutely refused to do on the set.

Mission: Impossible chronicles the high-stakes adventures of Ethan Hunt and his Impossible Missions Force field team as they take on existential threats to international peace and security with the world's fate on the line. Widely regarded as one of the best examples within the genre, the Mission: Impossible franchise is well known for its plots being subordinate and secondary to the action, generally to critical acclaim. After six films full of ensemble casts and top-of-the-line stunts, the film series looks to end with a final two-part installment.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly about the upcoming movie, Klementieff revealed that Cruise refused to help her while choreographing a fight scene between their two characters in Venice, despite her asking. "I kept telling him to just kick me here," the actress said, indicating her torso. "I was squeezing abs. I said, 'You can just go for it.' He was like, 'No, no, no, no, no.' I was like, 'But it's going to help me!' But he wouldn't do it."

With a Mission: Impossible editor promising historic stunts in Dead Reckoning, fans are excited to see what Klementieff's character will bring to the big screen. The actress describes her portrayal of Paris as “very, very, very much a chaotic element in the story. It doesn't matter how deep in the background she is; you're going to be watching her at all times and wondering what she's going to do." Klementieff further describes Paris as someone who "destroys everything in her path. She's a rebel; she's a killer, she's extremely skilled and quite lonely too."

Paris was named in honor of Leonard Nimoy's character in the original Mission: Impossible TV show, which was a pretty solid choice for Klementieff. "When Christopher McQuarrie cast me for the role, he didn't know which name the character would have," the actress recalls. "It was cool to name me Paris, me being from France, and then they decided that I would speak French because I speak French in real life." She joins other big names on the characteristically stacked roster, with even more actors like Mindhunter's Holt McCallany lined up for Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 2.

All indicators seem to point to Dead Reckoning becoming another smash hit for the franchise, with the ensemble cast being one part of what promises to be an amazing close to Ethan Hunt's high-risk, high-octane missions to save the world. Fortunately for fans of the film series, this likely won't be the last we see of Mission: Impossible, with the seventh film's director confirming the Mission: Impossible franchise will end when fans decide they are no longer interested.

Mission: Impossible –Dead Reckoning Part One is set to hit theaters on July 12, 2023.
