Hinata isn't just a simple character made to be protagonist Takemichi's love interest, she's much more than that. She is a complex character that hopefully fans will see much more in the upcoming season. Here are a few fun facts about Tokyo Revenger's Hinata Tachibana that fans may not know.

6 She Has A Sweet Tooth

While Hinata hasn't mentioned her love for sweets in the anime so far, the official Tokyo Revengers character book has a few little hidden details that not many fans may be privy to. According to the official character book, one of Hinata's favorite drinks is hot cocoa. While coffee is another one of her favorites, she can't stand it when her drink is too bitter and still needs some milk and sugar to satisfy her sweet tooth.

She's even on one occasion tried to bake her sweetheart Takemichi a batch of cookies! And of course, being the talented girl she is, she nailed the recipe and Takemichi loved her kind gesture and thoroughly enjoyed her baked treats.

Hinata's full name doesn't just sound pretty and unique, it's also got a fitting translation behind it. "Hinata" in Japanese translates roughly into "sunny place" which perfectly fits her warm and welcoming personality. Not only that, but the meaning also doubles as Hinata is Takemichi's very own "safe place", feeling happy and comforted whenever he is with her.

Hinata's surname, "Tachibana", roughly translates into "orange" or "tangerine", likely referring to her hair. Every version of Hinata that's seen throughout the series so far, has the same coral (pinkish-orange). On top of her signature hair color, her eyes also shine a bright mix of amber and orange, very similar to a ripe tangerine.

4 She Wants To Be A Nurse

Another little bit of interesting trivia found in the official Tokyo Revengers character book is a small glimpse into her hopeful plans for the future. It seems that Hinata wishes to pursue the medical field and one day in order to become a nurse. It's only natural she wants a career that involves helping so many people in need, considering how kind and caring Hinata is.

Ever since the beginning, it was incredibly clear how far Hinata is willing to go in order to protect her loved ones. Genuine, kind, and compassionate people like Hinata are just the type of people that deserve a place in the medical field.

3 Her Idols Are Mother & Hellen Keller

Hinata has two main role models in her life: her own loving mother and famous American author, Hellen Keller. While her father does make an appearance later in the series and audiences have already met her brother, Naoto, as he's a rather important and recurring character in the cast, her mother currently remains unnamed.

Meanwhile, Hellen Keller was primarily known for her political activism and her work as an advocate for those with disabilities. Any time Takemichi finds himself in a compromising situation, Hinata is always by his side to help him when he can't help himself. It's no wonder Hinata looks up to such an inspiring and courageous historical figure.

2 She's Tougher Than She Looks

Despite how adorable and loving Hinata is, she is definitely not someone to mess with. Don't be fooled by her cute appearance, Hinata isn't afraid to put up a fight with anyone if it means protecting someone she cares about.

Although Mikey is the most feared character in the entire Tokyo Revengers cast because of his unstoppable levels of strength, it didn't stop Hinata from giving him a good slap across the face when she thought he was harassing poor Takeimichi. Although it was clear she was a bit scared herself, she stood up to whom she thought was bullying her poor sweetheart. Hinata did eventually apologize when she realized the misunderstanding, but it just goes to show how love can bring out true bravery.

1 The Series Wouldn't Exist Without Her

While Takemichi, Mikey, and Draken usually take the spotlight, it's important to remember that the entire series all began with Hinata's untimely death. Hinata herself may not get a whole ton of screen time but at the end of the day, Takeimichi's entire journey with Toman and the others would have never even happened without her.

Hinata's death which occurred in the very first episode is essentially the catalyst for the entire Tokyo Revengers series. Who knew that a simple relationship that happened in Hinata's younger years would have just a profound effect on both herself, Takemichi, and the world around them.
