Despite all of that, many fans still love the story building up to the conclusion, with its large and diverse cast of characters that made the series intriguing to watch in the first place. From powerful characters like Mikey to the bold and beloved ones like Takemichi, there’s a character for everyone’s taste. One issue Tokyo Revengers always had however is a dearth of female characters. However, despite that, the few girls fans see in this manga are compelling and, usually, well-written.

6 Karen Kurokawa

Karen is a minor female character in the overarching story of Tokyo Revengers. She is the biological mother of one of the most beloved female characters in Tokyo Revengers, Emma Sano. She’s also the adoptive mother of the main antagonist, Izana Kurokawa, who played a major role during the Tenjiku arc as the leader of Tenjiku. She was the wife of Makoto Sano, who was the biological father of Mikey, Emma, and Shinichiro.

Appearance-wise, she looks almost identical to her daughter Emma, and she’s usually seen smoking a cigarette. Karen abandoned her children due to different reasons. Izana, as he wasn’t related by blood to her, was sent by her to an orphanage. Even her blood-related daughter, Emma, was given up later to her grandfather as soon as the opportunity presented itself. Her character is also quite cruel, as has been showcased on several occasions. When she meets Inaza one day at the casino, she bluntly tells him he’s not her son. She was a major cause of Izana’s mental health decline due to her attitude towards him. When Izana Kurokawa died, she never attended his funeral. Her character is mostly used to advance Izana’s character and she is never given attention after that.

5 Akane Inui

Akane Inui is another minor female character that greatly affected a chunk of Tokyo Revengers. She is the older sister of Seishu Inui – an important member of the Tokyo Manji Gang. She also had a good friendship with her brother’s friend, Hajime Kokonoi, who eventually became a member of the Tokyo Manji Gang as well. In fact, Hajime Kokonoi had a big crush on her and attempted to kiss her once, which she rejected due to their age gap. Despite that, Kokonoi’s feelings wouldn’t change and he would assure her that he would protect her.

Her character is also marked with tragedy to quite an extent and fans get to see that when the Inui home catches fire with Akane and Seishu inside. Kokonoi goes inside to rescue his beloved Akane. Akane, while fun, is used to forward the story of Kokonoi, for the most part. While she survives the fire, her treatment is too much for her parents, so Kokonoi forms a thief syndicate to steal and get money for her operation. However, he does not get the money in time and she passes. Her character impacts Hajime Kokonoi most grievously, especially when it comes to his relationship with her younger brother, Seishu Inui, who looks a lot like her, appearance-wise.

4 Tachibana Hinata

Tachibana Hinata is the show's main female character and she acts as the love interest of the main character, Hanagaki Takemichi. For the 26-year-old Takemichi, she is his past ex-girlfriend who he watched die at the hands of the Yakuza, as reported on live television. However, for the Takemichi of the past, she is his girlfriend and the closest person that he has. Hinata is also the story's main motivation as everything Takemichi does is for the sole purpose of saving her from her cursed fate.

Hinata is an extremely sweet and caring girl. She is shown to be a big optimist and huge moral support to everyone around her. Often, she brings joy to people around her. At first glance, this could be seen as just a typical, boring, nice girl trope, but Hinata, as the story goes on, proves to be a lot more than just that. Her bravery is especially shown in instances where she stands up for Takemichi. An example of this would be when she believes the latter is getting bullied, and without any hesitation, she goes as far as to slap the leader of the gang, Mikey, not caring about the consequences. Appearance-wise, she's quite a normal girl with pink-purplish hair and pretty big eyes. Hinata has a beauty mark under her lips. In the series, she's usually dressed in her school uniform, but on some occasions, she can also be seen in casual or traditional Japanese clothing.

Tachibana Hinata In The End

Tachibana Hinata was always an important character in the Tokyo Revengers series. In the final arc, Takemichi goes to meet her before the big fight and she gets him to pour his heart out and admit that he is afraid of what’s to come. She ends up motivating him and giving him more strength before the fight against the Kanto Manji Gang, led by Mikey - a decisive confrontation in the story.

During the fight, Takemichi gets to see visions of her, which make him stronger and more confident. In the final chapter of Tokyo Revengers, fans see her wedding to Hanagaki Takemichi and their wedding finally marks the end of the manga – an event fans were waiting for for quite a long time.

3 Sano Emma

Emma is Mikey or Sano Manjiro's younger half-sister, as well as Draken's love interest. Being an extremely important female character, fans get to see her in the first season of Tokyo Revengers.
