It has been quite some time since Bethesda has made any substantial announcements or reveals about The Elder Scrolls 6. As the studio confirmed previously, Bethesda is focusing on Starfield first, even though The Elder Scrolls 6 remains one of the most anticipated upcoming titles from the developer. So, when Todd Howard, who often is seen as the face of Bethesda, went online for an Ask Me Anything outreach (AMA), the topic quickly turned towards the upcoming game.

The AMA was held of Reddit, a popular platform for this type of public outreach, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of Skyrim and the release of the latest edition of the massively popular title. Fan questions ranged all over the map, from asking about secrets in the lore and cut content of previous titles like Skyrim and Fallout 4, and a question about the release of The Elder Scrolls 6 that led to the reveal of a joke from Howard's sone about the game.

One of the first questions during the AMA asked about any news about The Elder Scrolls 6, which was answered by Howard expressing understanding about how long the wait has been for fans, including the developer's own son. According to an anecdote shared by Howard in response to the question, the developer's son gave him a card on Father's Day that read, "You're an amazing Dad, but where's TES6?" So, even Howard's own son is trolling him on how long the development for the upcoming title is taking, with 10 years now between the last major release from the series.

Unfortunately, the response gave no clue as to when there might actually be either a release date or any more news on The Elder Scrolls 6's launch window. Some interesting content from within Bethesda's many franchises did come to life as well, including confirmations of planned underwater Vaults in Fallout 4, as well as what Fallout might have been had the developer not secured the IP. So, while there isn't much to pull from for release windows on future titles, there are some eye opening moments from the Bethesda catalogue.

It might be disappointing to still get no information on the state of The Elder Scrolls 6's development, but Howard did at least reveals some interesting behind the scenes facts about some of Bethesda's biggest franchises. Plus, the insight that even the developer's own son is getting impatient for news on the upcoming title might be one of the most relatable things Howard has offered in one of these AMAs. For now, patience will be the name of the game, at least until Bethesda actually gets to revealing the actual name of the game somewhere down the line.

The Elder Scrolls 6 is currently in development by Bethesda.
