Last year's reveal of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge showed off a return to the classic arcade beat-em-up style of games that was a staple of the franchise. The newest game in the long-running franchise about mutant crime-fighting turtles harkens back to iconic games like Turtles in Time on the SNES with a style inspired by the original 1987 TV series. Now, with Shredder's Revenge's release less than a week away, the newest announcement from publisher Dotemu reveals a collaboration with another pop culture icon, the Wu-Tang Clan. The Wu-Tang Clan has been no stranger to the video game industry as the iconic rap group from the 1990s and 2000s featured in another major game just a few months ago. The Wu-Tang Clan partnered with Fortnite earlier this year for a set of cosmetics inspired by the group, and last year saw rumors circulating about a new game starring the group. The Wu-Tang Clan's most recent foray into gaming comes in a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles tie-in as Dotemu revealed multiple members have worked on the soundtrack for Shredder's Revenge.RELATED: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge Gets New Gameplay Trailer at Summer Game FestThe announcement came via Dotemu's official Twitter account with the publisher teasing a new song featured in Shredder's Revenge titled "We Ain't Came to Lose." The post reveals that Wu-Tang Clan members Raekwon the Chef and Ghostface Killah worked with Tribute Games on the soundtrack, with the song's beat provided by Sonic Mania composer Tee Lopes. While the post doesn't confirm how deeply the rappers were involved with the game's music, it also links to a pre-order page for CDs and vinyls of Shredder's Revenge's soundtrack.

The pre-order pages through Kid Katana Records also shows the Wu-Tang Clan was not the only musical act brought in to perform for Shredder's Revenge. The description reveals that Mike Patton, frontman of 80s and 90s rock band Faith No More, was also brought on for an exclusive track. Kid Katana Records also confirms that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge's soundtrack will be available digitally through streaming and download platforms immediately upon the game's release.

While Shredder's Revenge will look to take the franchise back to its 1980s roots, the game will also include plenty of new features to expand on the classic games. Previous reveals have confirmed several side characters including April O'Neil, Casey Jones, and the Turtles' mentor Splinter will be playable in Shredder's Revenge. Dotemu and Tribute Games also recently revealed the Turtles' original voice actors would reprise their roles for the upcoming beat-em-up. Shredder's Revenge looks to bring an 80s-inspired romp for Turtles fans everywhere when it releases later this week.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge is scheduled to release on June 16 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
