Fans of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have plenty to look forward to in 2022 with not one, but two games launching. Those looking for a dose of nostalgia will want to check out Konami's TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection, which includes a bunch of classic games like Turtles in Time, The Hyperstone Heist, Tournament Fighters, and more. In terms of new experiences, Dotemu and Tribute Games surprised fans last year when they announced the beat-em-up title, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge.

However, as excited as most in the fan base appear to be, the biggest question on most players minds is when they'll be able to jump in. Over the past year, Dotemu has shared plenty of information on Shredder's Revenge, including boss fights against classic villains, nostalgia driven animated cutscenes, and abilities that no longer require sacrificing a small portion of health. Snippets of gameplay have left a strong impression on fans thanks to the smooth gameplay, the modern take on classic pixel style visuals, and 16-bit soundtrack.

While an official release date remains unknown, the mystery has narrowed a bit thanks to an announcement from Tribute Games and publisher Dotemu. Fans should keep an eye out this summer as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge launches this Summer. Intended to be a spiritual successor of the original arcade title from the late 1980's, Shredder's Revenge brings back the classic four player co-op beat-'em-up gameplay to take on side scrolling pixel art levels against familiar foes like Rocksteady, Krang, and more.

In addition to the release window, Dotemu also confirmed that all four voice actors that played the Turtles back in the 1987 animated series are making their return to this game. Cam Clarke reprises his role as Leonardo, Townsend Coleman as Michelangelo, Barry Gordon as Donatello, and Rob Paulsen as Raphael. No word yet on if the original Splinter and April O'Neil voice actors are returning as well. While available as a digital release, fans can also pick up a physical copy of the game if they so choose.

At launch, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge will give players access to six playable characters. In addition to the four turtles, Dotemu announced that both Master Splinter and April O'Neil would also be joining the roster. With such a wide range of characters across the entire series, fans have been theorizing that even more could be added like Casey Jones, Mondo Gecko, Yojimbo, and more potentially as a hidden unlock or perhaps as some eventual DLC.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge is scheduled to release Summer 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
