The wait for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was downright excruciating for many players who couldn't wait to see how Nintendo improved upon the mechanics of Breath of the Wild. The six-year wait ended up being a justified one, with Tears of the Kingdom showing everyone why it deserves to be ranked highly as a worthy successor and one of the best Nintendo Switch games ever made.

Everything from the first game was expanded upon to a ridiculous extent, and it helped that the inclusion of Zonai Devices and the new abilities made the gameplay more engaging than ever before. While most people would use these Zonai devices to solve puzzles or just mess around in the game world, there are quite a few ways that these devices can aid Link in combat too.

Games With The Most Impressive Graphics

Graphics can make a good game look great. Regardless of the actual gameplay, here are the games with the most undeniably impressive graphics

5 Rocket

Extend The Range Of Arrows

The Rocket Shield in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Rockets are excellent Zonai devices that help out in a bunch of situations. Out of all the devices that players can get in the game, it's very much possible that these ones are what players will run out of the most. It's simply too much fun to use a rocket and blast off into the distance. It's also very helpful if the player needs to get somewhere and traditional modes of locomotion aren't cutting it.

Players who want to use an arrow to hit targets in the distance but can't rely on the range of the bow need only attach a rocket to their arrow and let one fly. It extends the range of this projectile and lets players pick enemies off from a distance as long as they have a rocket or two to spare. A great use case for this combination would be to hit dragons from a distance if players are struggling to close the distance or just want to target a certain part without being bamboozled by the arc of the arrow.

4 Time Bomb

Stun Enemies For Minor Damage

One of many Zonai Devices, it has a delayed reaction and can activate other Zonai devices.

While there's no denying that the mechanics of Tears of the Kingdom are many steps above what Breath of the Wild had in its runes, there's one thing that fans miss a lot. The Remote Bombs were pretty useful and could easily take out enemies whenever the player wished. Now, they've been removed from the game, with the Time Bomb serving as more of a poor replacement.

Not only are these bombs finite, but they barely do any damage since their main use case is more to do with puzzles and the lot. Still, players can attach time bombs to their arrows and shields to give enemies an explosive welcome that knocks them off their feet, even if the damage to their health is negligible.

3 Flame/Frost/Shock/Beam Emitter

Attach To Weapons & Shields To Debilitate Enemies

Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom

The many emitters that players can find in the world of Tears of the Kingdom all accomplish different things that are useful in their own ways. While most people will inevitably use the Flame Emitter the most because of the many helpful use cases that fire has in the game, the others shouldn't be ignored. In fact, players can always rely on these emitters to make combat more dynamic and engaging if they wish.

Nintendo Switch's gyro controls are best used in these fantastic Switch games.

Setting enemies on fire, freezing them, shocking them into dropping their weapons, and knocking them back with a beam all do a great job of making it easier for Link to deal with groups of enemies. These effects persist whether players have these emitters equipped on a shield or weapon, with the former letting players combine defense and offense in one smooth move.

2 Big Wheel/Small Wheel

Run Over Enemies, Knocking Them Over

Link driving car-like vehicle in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Creating cars to roam around the world of Tears of the Kingdom makes for a great time, and it's easy to see why players would love the act of letting their creativity flow as they either create functioning vehicles or try and see how malleable this system really is by experimenting to their heart's content.

Another way vehicles can be pretty powerful in Tears of the Kingdom is if players use them to run over enemies, sweeping them off their feet in the process. It may not seem all that efficient, but there's nothing more fun than watching enemies ragdoll as they're helpless to flee the assault led by Link and his hulking vehicle of doom.

1 Homing Cart/Construct Head

Create A Makeshift Automated Weapon To Attack Enemies

Zonai Device Homing Cart

Perhaps the most useful Zonai item in combat is a device that was specifically designed to target enemies. The Construct Head and Homing Cart both auto-lock on enemies, making it easier to construct death-dealing devices that will whip enemies into shape in no time flat.

The Construct Head automatically faces enemies, making it perfect for attaching mid to long-range weapons and making it function like an automated turret. By adding the Homing Cart to the mix, players can create some extremely powerful automated constructions that can do the heavy lifting for them without Link having to lift a finger.
