The Titans season 4 trailer dropped just over two weeks before the DC series returns on HBO Max, and the latest preview offers a glimpse at the new villains antagonizing the titular team this year, including Superman's arch-enemy Lex Luthor.

Titans season 3 followed the DC team as they travelled to Gotham City in the wake of Jason Todd's murder and the absence of Bruce Wayne. While Titans season 3' antagonist was Red Hood (a resurrected Jason Todd), season 4 will find the titular team facing a foe more familiar to Metropolis, and he's found himself diving into the occult. Furthermore, the Titans will face their own personal demons and challenges, in addition to the DC villains being introduced for season 4.

DC villain Lex Luthor is the focus of much of the Titans season 4 trailer, and he assures someone who informs him that the gods will soon know who he is they already know the name Lex Luthor. Luthor plagues Connor Kent, asking to meet him in person, but Dick Grayson seems to advise against this. Grayson informs Connor that Lex Luthor was the only person Bruce Wayne was ever afraid of, which prompts Connor to tell him that Superman was never afraid of Luthor and neither is he. "You should be," Grayson says in response.

Other sinister forces look to provide the Titans with their toughest challenges yet, including Franka Potente’s Mother Mayhem and Joseph Morgan's Blood, although the latter appears to be struggling to fight against his Brother Blood alter-ego. Also featured in the Titans season 4 is Lisa Ambalavanar as Jinx, a master of dark magic who Dick Grayson and Starfire seek out for help. Gar, a.k.a. Beast Boy, also struggled with "strange things" that have been happening to him ever since the team arrived in Metropolis and Dick Grayson warns Connor that if leaves to meet Lex Luthor, it will hurt the team because Connor is a part of the family.

Titans season 4 dropped a teaser recently, but it was just that, offering a small sample of footage to tease the occult threat. The full Titans season 4 trailer, on the other hand, makes clear that Lex Luthor is more dangerous and brutal than ever now he's tapped into the occult. The Titans can be expected to measure up to these new threats, but fans should be concerned that a victory won't come without casualties along the way.

Titans season 4 premieres on November 3, 2022, on HBO Max.
