As a follow-up to Gearbox Software and 2K Games' Borderlands 2: Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands represented a bit of a new direction for the Borderlands franchise. While a lot of the core elements of the series remained — the oddball humor, the cel-shaded art style, the looter shooter gameplay — Tiny Tina's Wonderlands infused these elements with its own brand of wackiness. With the titular explosives expert leading the charge, players were able to delve into Borderlands' take on a fantasy tabletop adventure, and the results have been met with praise from both critics and fans.
Tiny Tina's Wonderlands copies the same procedurally generated format as its predecessors when it comes to weaponry, so there is no shortage of options for players. While the choices really do seem endless, some players have started to warm to certain guns over others, even though Tiny Tina's Wonderlands has only been out a number of weeks. It seems that most players agree that Liquid Cooling, a legendary-tiered pistol that certainly packs a punch, takes the crown as the best weapon in the game.
Liquid Cooling: Best Gun In The Game
Despite the Borderlands series' boasts that there are "bazillions" of guns, some of them can start to feel a little samey, with the difference between one weapon and another negligible at best. But that doesn't mean there isn't still a vast array of guns and gear for players to utilize, and finding them out in the world is one of the fun aspects of Borderlands' gameplay. With how many weapons there are to choose from in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands alone, it's surprising that players have agreed on the best one already, and it shows just how superior Liquid Cooling is to achieve such a consensus.
In a Reddit post that drew lots of attention from Borderlands fans, one poster summed up the thoughts of the community by stating that "we all know liquid cooling is by far the best gun in the game." It's no wonder Liquid Cooling is so popular, given its impressive rate of fire combined with a very tasty propensity for high damage. That's a lethal mixture in any weapon, but Liquid Cooling takes it a step further with its use of frost ammo that gradually weakens and slows enemies, and can even eventually turn them to solid ice, making them ripe for melee damage.
But that's not all that makes Liquid Cooling seriously overpowered. Weapons in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands come from one of several manufacturers, each with its own weapon traits and perks. Liquid Cooling is made by Skuldugger, which makes guns that don't need to be reloaded and instead regenerate their ammo. They do need a cooldown period, however, but because Liquid Cooling has a great perk that means landing a critical hit leads to instant cooldown, accurate players could technically keep firing Liquid Cooling without interruption.
Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Weapons
Tiny Tina's Wonderlands may have a similarly diverse array of guns as other Borderlands titles, but there is more that sets it apart. In keeping with its fantasy setting, the series has introduced melee weapons and magic spells for this installment to give players plenty of ways to approach combat, as well as some visually interesting fights. With elemental aspects and other unique features, weapons and spells let gamers exploit enemy weaknesses and come up with creative ways to cause damage. Each of the classes in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands has its own perks and specific abilities as well, in addition to a handful of companions that can be deployed in battle.
The game's combat and the range of weaponry and gear are some of the best aspects of Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. The combinations of different weapons, various ammo, and unique manufacturers come together to make almost endless possibilities, and the combat is characterized by Borderlands' endearingly bizarre mixture of silly and ultra-violent. Players can even choose a subclass for further character customization and with more gear, guns, and classes on the way in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands DLC, there will be lots of things to keep gamers occupied and perhaps unseat Liquid Cooling from the top spot.
