Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, Gearbox's Borderlands-inspired looter shooter, has exceeded expectations. Sales for Tiny Tina's Wonderlands are higher than predicted and Borderlands fans are already hoping Gearbox is inspired to be just as experimental with future games. That doesn't mean that Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is exempt from issues, however. Just recently Gearbox issued an update that could potentially remove all story progress for players. In a quick turnaround, Gearbox has issued a fix for the Tiny Tina's Wonderlands progression issue -- and a reward of free Skeleton Keys, too.

Update 1.0.3.0A for Tiny Tina's Wonderlands went live on Friday, addressing dozens of balance issues and bug fixes. The bug would reset all story progression for players, including a full map reset removing all fast travel unlocks. To be fair, this is an issue seen before in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, but the latest update appears to have impacted substantially more of the player base. That same day, Gearbox acknowledged the issue and confirmed it was working on a fix.

It would take a full day for Gearbox to complete the fix necessary to solve the Tiny Tina's Wonderlands progression bug. A message shared on Twitter confirmed that the fix went out Friday evening around 5:30 PM PT/8:30 PM ET. It should be available now and those impacted by the bug previously should find that their save files have been fully recovered. No progression should be lost anymore.

Players should be aware, however, that there are some reports of Tiny Tina's Wonderlands players encountering a "blank inventory" bug after downloading the fix. Gearbox has responded to this, too, saying that Xbox users should have two updates, one which fixes the progression issue and a second that recovers players' inventory. It's not optimal and is certainly going to put some Xbox Tiny Tina's Wonderlands players into a panic, but the issue is believed to be resolved with no lasting issues.

Lastly, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands players are being rewarded for having to deal with the frustrating progression (and inventory) issue. Gearbox has shared a key that will unlock three Skeleton Keys in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. The code for the keys is: "W9CJT-5XJTB-RRKRS-FTJ3T-BTRKK" and can only be used once per player.

Gearbox managing producer of live ops Mario Rodriguez explained on Twitter that this is the fastest he's seen a fix go through first-party certification, though it's been a "very stressful 33 hours." Needless to say, the team at Gearbox went hard to get this problem solved. Rodriguez also says that the team "learned a lesson" from the bug and that it's implementing new processes so that it doesn't happen again. Tiny Tina's Wonderlands players will have to hold Gearbox to that.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
