As many surely know by now, the community’s response to Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands’ DLC has been largely negative. The Mirrors of Mystery are pricey and short, lacking the side quests and story content seen in the main Borderlands series’ expansions. Still, Molten Mirrors, the third and most recent Mirror of Mystery, was seen as a step-up. As such, fans can only hope that the final Mirror will continue the upward trend.

While Shattering Spectreglass will surely not be enough to satisfy those craving a major content drop, there are a few things about this release that can make it stand out a bit. For starters, the story seems poised to be particularly interesting, assuming that the foundations laid within Molten Mirrors are expanded upon. More importantly, this fourth Tiny Tina's Wonderlands content drop is introducing a new class to the mix, as players will soon be able to control the Blightcaller.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands’ Blightcaller is Coming Soon

While it may not be the Bard class some fans were hoping for, the info that fans have on the Blightcaller is exciting. Essentially a shaman, this character boasts some bony armor and will be able to summon AI-controlled allies to assist them in battle. While the other classes have companions like Wyverns and the Demi-Lich, and the Graveborn can spawn dark magic hydras, summons will be more integral to the Blightcaller’s skill tree.

Through Spirit Swarm, a cloud of apparitions has a chance to be summoned whenever a status effect is applied, and this is just one of two summon options. The action skill Bog Totem spawns a turret-like object that drains souls from enemies and launches them back in their direction. Combining Bog Totem with Spirit Swarm ensures players can have two companions from the same class, meaning gamers can now reach a maximum of three companions by multi-classing with a Clawbringer, Spore Warden, or Graveborn. Like the name suggests, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands’ Blightcaller class will excel in poisonous attacks as well, so gamers can expect some serious boosts to corrosive weapons. The Plaguestorm action skill sees players farting, with enemies caught in the gas clouds being hit with elemental bolts.

How Shattering Spectreglass Could Play

With fans preferring Molten Mirrors over the first two Mirrors of Mystery, it can be assumed that a similar design philosophy will be present in Shattered Spectreglass. As such, Fatemakers will likely be tasked with a variety of objectives before they can battle the main boss, which will be far more enjoyable than completing the same repetitive tasks. As for who this boss will be, there is a good chance it could be Vesper herself.

The narrator and overseer of Dreamveil Overlook has been an extremely mysterious character thus far, and only in Molten Mirrors were players warned of Vesper’s dark side. Fyodor the Soul Warden tells gamers that Vesper is dangerous multiple times, pushing gamers not to help her and assuring them that there is more to her than meets the eye. Even if Vesper is not the main villain of Shattering Spectreglass, hopefully Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands fans finally get to learn a bit more about who - or what - she really is.

Outside of some Molten Mirrors-like level design, much-needed Vesper lore, and the Blightcaller’s debut, the final Mirror of Mystery will likely be comparable to the others. Gamers can expect fresh loot at the Wheel of Fate, weekly difficulty levels for Shattering Spectreglass, and some unlockable rooms for the Chaos Chamber. With gamers still waiting on an exact release date for this DLC, hopefully more information will be released soon.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
