Thus far, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands has revealed four of its six playable classes. The Stabbomancer is a great fit for stealthy players and those who enjoyed playing as Vault Hunters like Zer0, while the Brr-Zerker is a fine choice for fans of melee gameplay and those that like to craft setups around the Cryo status effect. The Spellshot is an excellent stand-in for the Siren class, as the magical abilities available to the class set it apart from everything else that will be available in the spin-off.

The final class that Gearbox has revealed for Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands thus far is the Clawbringer. While a class that wields a giant hammer may seem a bit tame compared to those that provide special powers like magic and invisibility, there are a few things that help it stand out. In fact, its unique skills could prove to be particularly exciting for fans of a very different video game: God of War 2018.

Similarities Between The Clawbringer’s Hammer And Kratos’ Leviathan Axe

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands’ Clawbringer features a few distinct abilities for players to wield in their battles, and all of them should appeal to God of War fans. Perhaps the most obvious connection is the throwable hammer that gamers can make use of. Clearly meant to resemble Mjolnir in its functionality, it is similar to the Leviathan Axe due to a shared source of inspiration.

God of War’s throwable Leviathan Axe drove the gameplay of the 2018 title, and it will surely be a defining feature of next year’s God of War Ragnarok as well. The act of throwing and recalling the blade quickly became iconic, as it was extremely satisfying to wield the Ghost of Sparta’s enchanted weapon. Those that could not get enough of the Leviathan Axe should be thrilled that the Clawbringer’s hammer can be thrown and called back to its user in the same manner - something that makes the Clawbringer class a perfect fit for fans of the beloved PlayStation exclusive.

God of War’s runic attacks are also similar to the Clawbringer’s Cleansing Flames ability. There are several attacks that see Kratos slamming his weapon into the ground to cause some area of effect damage, with piles of ice launching forward or around him. With Cleansing Flames, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands players slam the ground to create a massive explosion of fire, with the AoE attack doing massive incendiary damage to everything around the player character’s signature hammer.

Perhaps the coolest thing about the Clawbringer is its baby dragon companion. While players have not yet seen what it can do, it will likely function like FL4K’s pets in Borderlands 3, with gamers able to command it to attack enemies and revive them when they are downed. Assuming this is how the dragon companion functions, it would end up working a lot like Atreus did in the original God of War. With God of War fans able to access a throwable weapon and an AI-controlled ally that can assist in battle, the Clawbringer class should be a no-brainer.

While Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is a very different game from God of War, there will surely be a bit of overlap between the franchises. For those who will be playing the looter shooter to kill time until Kratos’ next big adventure, crafting a character with the Clawbringer’s abilities should give them an experience that feels closer to what will be seen in the Santa Monica’s upcoming sequel.
