Denis Villeneuve's Dune was met with widespread acclaim from critics and fans, but if there is one criticism, it's that it only told half a story. Now, Dune: Part Two, which began filming in July, looks to conclude the epic story of Arrakis, and for many cast members, particularly Timothée Chalamet, returning to such an epic world is much different this time around.

Chalamet will reprise his role as Paul Atreides, who, after uniting with Zendaya's Chani and the Fremen, is seeking revenge against those who destroyed his family. In addition to his relationship with the Fremen, the Dune sequel will also explore his journey to becoming the fabled Kwisatz Haderach, which eventually leads to his rebellion against the Emperor.

During an interview with HommeGirls, Chalamet discussed revisiting old works, which he likened it to returning as Paul Atreides for the Dune sequel, adding that he and his character have both gained plenty of confidence since the first film. "It’s fascinating. And it’s something you don’t get to do with movies. Revisit. Actually though, I’m feeling that with Dune," Chalamet said. "Speaking about how cycles match life. I was younger when I did it the first time and was kind of blindsided by how big that movie was. And now, as Paul Atreides becomes more sure on his heels, I feel more sure on my heels, too."

Timothee Chalamet & John Brolin In Dune

Dune: Part Two pre-shooting took place on July 4 at the Brion tomb in Altivole, Italy, while principal photography began on July 18 in Budapest, Hungary. Florence Pugh and Austin Butler have been cast as Princess Irulan and Harkonnen heir Feyd-Rautha, respectively. Christopher Walken will play emperor Shaddam IV, while Léa Seydoux and Souheila Yacoub will fill the roles of Lady Margot and Shishakli, respectively. Returning cast members include Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Zendaya as Chani, Javier Bardem as Stilgar, Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck, Stellan Skarsgård as Baron Harkonnen, and Dave Bautista as Glossu Rabban.

When it comes to Dune, movies don't get much bigger than that in terms of scope and epicness, so it's understandable why Chalamet -- or any actor in general -- would feel that type of pressure walking on set. Before entering the world of Arrakis, Chalamet made a name for himself by starring in several acclaimed smaller projects such as Lady Bird and Little Women, not to mention Call Me by your Name.

Dune: Part Two will now arrive in theatres on November 3, 2023.
