Highlights

  • Square Enix has done an incredible job with FF Remake and Rebirth, setting up huge expectations for the final part of the trilogy.
  • The final part may be a couple of years away, but the release window is irrelevant. What's important is that the developers deliver the best content.
  • The community has already started to hope for elements, gameplay and story-wise, they want to see in the third part.

The PS5 was released in 2020, shortly after the Final Fantasy 7 Remake hit store shelves. It was a wild year for video games as new games were hard to come by, much like the hardware itself, due to the global pandemic and scalpers. A year later, Square Enix released a PS5 version with improvements, including Yuffie DLC.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: Beginner Tips

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth can be confusing for new players. In this guide, they will find useful tips that will help them in their adventure.

From the original release to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, it took four years. Based on these patterns, it’s hard to predict the future of the final part of this trilogy. Will it come out in 2028 on the PS5, or will it be a PS6 game? Will it come sooner? There are a lot of variables for the future but the finale's release window is irrelevant; Square Enix just has to do their best to include these things to keep fans happy.

This list will include spoilers for the entire Final Fantasy 7 universe.

7 Playable Cid And Vincent

The Dragoon And The Turk

In Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Red 13 joined at the end of the game, but he wasn’t playable. That was saved for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and seemingly, that is going to happen for Cid and Vincent in the final chapter. Vincent is almost a guarantee because he has weapons whereas it’s a bit murky for Cid.

Cid doesn’t have his lance, and he never talks about fighting. It would be a bit wild for him to somehow pull a lance out of thin air to tell the party he could have fought this whole time. Square Enix could perhaps explain this in DLC for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and it wouldn’t hurt to set up Vincent, too, who has a wild backstory in the original.

6 Vehicles And The World

Returning To The Skies

Chocobos were a big part of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, but players also got to enjoy riding the Buggy around Corel and the Tiny Bronco in the ocean. There are two more vehicles Square Enix has to include in the final game. The first was previewed in Junon, The Highwind, and they even set up the Underwater Reactor if players talk to the right soldier.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: 6 Common Mistakes To Avoid

Players will ultimately have an easier time in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth by avoiding these common mistakes.

Near the end of Final Fantasy 7, players got to explore the ocean floor with a submarine around said reactor. To a lesser extent, the party also went to space in a rocket, although players couldn’t explore space, and that would be too much in the next chapter to include. Instead, hopefully, Square Enix will let players explore the entire world they built starting from Final Fantasy 7 Remake with The Highwind, and adding ocean sections would be cool too.

5 Snowboarding

Icicle Inn Is Calling

Since Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth skipped over Bone Village and The Forgotten Capitol as real areas, the next game will probably start with the team in the snow, heading to the town of Icicle Inn. It would be an interesting way to create a metaphor. The party is going through a blinding snowstorm on the way to Icicle Inn to suggest to players that the future is unknown.

In the original game, players can find out more about Ifalna and Aerith in Icicle Inn, so it could mirror how Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth started with Cloud’s flashback. Most importantly, though, th game has to include the snowboard mini-game. It was teased in Gold Saucer already, so hopefully, it wasn’t just an Easter Egg in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth but more like a confirmation.

4 Tifa Vs. Scarlet

Scarlet Needs To Get Her Clock Cleaned

In the original game, players went from Icicle Inn to the Northern Crater, where things go wild. That should set up the beginning of the finale remake to be absolutely bonkers as well. After Cloud gives the “real” Sephiroth the Black Materia, he awakens the Weapons of the planet, and then things sort of fade to black as the party is kidnapped by Shinra.

The perspective shifts over to Tifa, who has to escape Shinra’s shackles within Junon, leading to one of the most iconic moments in the original game: the slap fight. Tifa and Scarlet smack the heck out of each other, and it’s not a mini-game, although the remake can certainly make it more of a mechanical moment.

3 Wutai

Going To Yuffie’s Homeland

Yuffie was a side character in the original game along with her homeland, Wutai. It is almost certain the party will go there as a main part of the story since she is more integrated into Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. This could also be a more impactful moment that could tie into the original Avalanche.

This is where the party could finalize the plans to take on Shinra once and for all. Whether that happens or not remains to be seen. The one thing the final remake has to nail, though, is Don Corneo finally getting his comeuppance and players really need to feel that kill.

2 Invading Shinra HQ

Parachuting Into Madness

The aforementioned preparation phase in Wutai will lead to the takedown of Shinra. In the original game, it’s just Cloud and the others who parachuted back into Midgar for the first time since the start of the adventure. It’s a huge moment, and Shinra HQ and other sections of Midgar were kind of like the second to last dungeon of the game.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: Every Playable Character, Ranked

Here's every playable character in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth ranked from worst to best, along with some other interesting info about each one.

It was a high point in the original, and it will certainly be a big selling point in the final remake. If Square Enix includes it, that is, but it will probably happen because Final Fantasy 7 Remake already had a parachuting section. So, the DNA is already coded within this trilogy.

1 Zack Needs To Get A Better Conclusion

Make This Remake Count

The ending of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is one of the most confusing things in the game. Why did the game spend so much time building up Zack in that other universe to just kill him off again? Did Square Enix do it purposely to mislead players into thinking Zack would live this time around?

They pulled that move with Aerith, too. Will Zack return, or did Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth put the final nail in his coffin? That’s a big question, but hopefully, the last remake in this trilogy will subvert expectations once again. They should bring Zack back for a more prominent role beyond just a heavenly figure helping Cloud out like some sort of glorified Force Ghost.
