Surprisingly, it's the heroes that have their minds clouded with doubt and fear, as the thought of facing those demonic entities has Kazuki crippled with despair. Despite being summoned as a hero in this world, Kazuki's voice of discontentment has been the loudest out of the three victims of this forceful Isekai. Since Kazuki has never played the part of a warrior before, it's only natural for him to be wary of the upcoming conflict.

However, Kazuki's fear is fueled by a few factors, and the primary one is the sense of reality that has finally hit him. Knowing that facing off against those demons could be the end of his life, Kazuki has naturally spiraled into a state of uncertainty and despair. Suffice to say, these sentiments are entirely valid considering his current situation. His fears not only showcase his human side but also add a sense of realism to the narrative.

An Utter Lack of Resolve

Kazuki was summoned to this world against his will, and he had no intentions of staying there for long either. It was only after the King's persuasion, coupled with Usato and Suzune's willingness to stay, that Kazuki eventually withdrew his resistance. However, it seems that the very same doubt has trickled down to the current scenario, as Kazuki lacks the resolve to be willing to lay down his life for the kingdom.

The entire Isekai situation seems to be a case of Stockholm Syndrome, since the three were essentially kidnapped, yet they themselves are now willing to fight for the kingdom. While this perspective is a bit on the grim side, it's certainly not far from the truth. Given these circumstances and the fact that Kazuki barely knows these people, it makes perfect sense for him to be hesitant at the thought of laying down his life for the people of Llinger.

Spiraling under fear, Kazuki resorts to meeting up with Usato to discuss his concerns. Usato applauds Kazuki for opening up about his doubts, followed by some concrete advice. He shares his own experience and the kindness he received from the people of this kingdom, urging Kazuki to set aside his fears.
