In what has been a less than usual year for everyone, The Witcher’s production team is probably starting to come to terms how the rest of their filming schedule will pan out. So far The Witcher has suffered not one, but two production halts related to COVID-19 and it looks like they’re handling quite well.

Last week’s delay was down to four crew members testing positive for the coronavirus which prompted swift prevention protocols to be put in place to avoid further spread. Even though it’s not exactly known how these setbacks will affect The Witcher’s projected air date for summer 2021, both the show’s producer and Netflix are yet to officially announce any delays or compromises to that goal.

Of course, most of the information made public regarding The Witcher’s progress and filming updates does not come from official sources, but rather in the form of leaks, in this case Redanian Intelligence reporting new photos have surfaced that show the crew has picked up where they left off last week.

The Witcher is currently filming in South East England around the counties of Surrey and Reading, with the latter being home to Arborfield Studios where much of the filming that involves towns takes place, though none of series’ stars were confirmed to be there working in this latest leak.

It would seem like The Witcher’s production team is instead making the best of their current situation by not missing a single beat and continuing to work with essential personnel that can get ahead on separate tasks whenever they can. This is usual for any filming crew, but is probably more important now than ever as studios continue to adapt to working in the midst of a pandemic with the constant warning that production may be suddenly paused at any given time.

However, since The Witcher's second season is probably a long way from finished it is expected that the filming crew will be doing a lot of moving from one place to another, like Frensham Little Pond where horses and carriages used are still stationed. No exact word on Roach's whereabouts at the moment though.

The Witcher season two is coming to Netflix in 2021.
