Anyone who has played The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt knows by now that the optional side quests are seemingly never ending. There are plenty of extra story lines and quests that Geralt can complete in between his main missions, making the game extra engaging and immersive. Getting the two expansion packs for this epic video game is a must for anyone who thoroughly enjoyed the main adventure.

"Wine Wars: Consorting" is a somewhat tricky secondary quest in the DLC, Blood and Wine. This quest can only be completed after Geralt completes "Wine Wars: The Deus in the Machina" and before he completes either of the two following quests, "Wine Wars: Coronata" or "Wine Wars: Vermentino". Here are all the steps to make sure players complete this exciting quest correctly.

8 Triggering The Quest

After starting "Wine Wars: Belgaard", Geralt will be able to head down the paths of two parallel quests, "Wine Wars: Coronata" and "Wine Wars: Vermentino". On Plegmund's Bridge, Liam and Matilda, two massive vineyard competitors, are in an argument over which of them should get control of Belgaard Vineyard.

The suggested level for this quest is 40 and the reward is 200 EXP and 1050 crowns. Completion of the conjoined Liam and Matilda quests reward even more experience points and crowns.

7 Wine Wars: Coronata

Geralt can head out to complete "Wine Wars: Coronata" if he agrees to help out Liam and his vineyard. Setting off on Liam's quest will require the completion of five tasks.

These tasks are scattered across Toussant and involve monsters and bandits, which are no match for the dangerous White Wolf. Stock up on any needed supplies and head out to complete all the chores.

6 Liam's Tasks

The nearest task is a quick journey outside of Plegmund's Bridge. The vineyard there is infested with archespores, so Geralt will have to take them out and destroy the nest. From there, the Witcher can head to the northeast of Coronata Vineyard and rid that area of archespores as well. Next, examine the bodies and read the note that comes off of one of them. It will reveal that someone is trying to sabotage Liam, leading Geralt to investigate Matilda's Vementino vineyard.

Next, head to Forest Herbarium to find an abandoned site that is also infested with an archespore. Kill the monster and meditate, then investigate the cart of dead bodies to find a note from Liam.

Finally rid of the archespores, Geralt will come across rock trolls at the next task spot up the road from Dun Tynne Crossroads. The fifth and final task will lead the Witcher to save an herbalist from three bandits in a cave northeast of the Trading Post. The player can choose to escort her back, or stay in the area to find yet another note.

5 Wine Wars: Vermentino

Matilda in The Witcher 3

At the same time that "Wine Wars: Coronata" is assigned to Geralt, the "Wine Wars: Vermentino" quest is also unlocked. Just like Liam's quest, there are five tasks he must complete before returning to Matilda.

These tasks are nearly parallel to the previous five in the Coronata quest. First, head to the opposite side of Plegmund's Bridge to take out the rotfiends that plague the area. A note on a dead body contains a treasure hunt quest, so don't miss that!

4 Matilda's Tasks

The next task can be found at Dantan Glade, another abandoned site that can be revived by defeating the archespores. Geralt can loot another from a body in a cart after meditating. Following this task is one at the Herbalist's Hut west of Fox Hollow. Save the armorer from bandits and either escort them back to Vermentino, or stay to check out the area. The fourth task involves saving yet another abandoned site, this one on the south side of Lac Célavy, from an archespore. Check the bodies to find a love letter.

The final task requires the Witcher to defeat two archespores at a guarded treasure area near Sansretour Valley. Afterwards, examine the bodies to find a heavy brass key and a letter on elegant stationary. This unlocks the option for Geralt to investigate Liam's vineyard for answers on the sabotaging.

3 Wine Wars: Deus in the Machina

Geralt investigating an area

Once Geralt has read the elegant stationary note, he will learn the location where he may find answers, far south and east of the Tesham Mutna Ruins. Head into the cellar and defeat the archespore that looms there.

A lootable crate near the cellar's seedlings holds the crucial stocktaking report. This report uncovers the true saboteur that has been causing all of Liam and Matilda's problems. Geralt can then head back to turn in the information to the clerk, leading Liam and Matilda to join together as a powerful unit in spite of what their enemy wanted.

2 Ending The Feud

Liam and Matilda in The Witcher 3

After much time and effort on the Witcher's part, Geralt can choose to reveal to both vineyard owners that a third party sabotaged the vineyards. They agree that their long-term hatred for each other is not beneficial, and they come together in a consortium to be bigger and better than ever.

If Geralt helps both Liam and Matilda before completing "Wine Wars: The Deus in the Machina" but he doesn't directly end the feud, a similar outcome will still result. The two vineyard owners realize their problems shouldn't be blamed on one another, and they form a consortium to take down all of their combined competitors.

1 Only Helping One Vineyard Owner

Geralt overlooking the countryside

Players have the option to return to one vineyard owner rather than help both of them. They can do this either to save time, or to ensure there's only one winner to Belgaard. If Geralt only helps out Liam and allows him to obtain Belgaard for himself, Matilda will be upset and defeated over her loss. On the other hand, if Matilda gets all of Belgaard rather than Liam, Geralt will still be paid for helping out, as promised.

Play through the game once and pick which ending feels right, or play more than once and witness each unique ending.
