One player manages to find a creative way of turning The Witcher 3 into a version of Tony Hawks Pro Skater. Based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s fantasy novels, CD Projekt Red’s open-world RPG has had players hooked since first released in 2016. Some 7 years later, The Witcher 3 is still seeing updates thanks to its enduring popularity.

The game has gone on to win multiple awards, but as with any large open-world epics, The Witcher 3 isn’t without its fair share of glitches. A recent example of this can be seen in a glitch that turns Geralt of Rivia into The Flash, as the bug doubles Geralt’s movement speed in the game. While these are often humorous, one player has found a way of turning The Witcher 3 into the popular skate-sim.

The Witcher 3 Fan Makes Rare Discovery While Out at Sea

An unsuspecting Witcher 3 fan makes a spine-chilling discovery while sailing through the isles of Skellige near the middle of the night.

A user on Reddit going by the name of IndubitablyCreami has posted a video showcasing Geralt’s skating skills when the player finds themselves in a gulley that doubles up as a natural halfpipe. The short clip shows the titular Witcher enjoying a slide down the ridge, bouncing from one side to another. While IndubitablyCreami isn’t able to pull off any tricks, owing to a lack of skateboard, the sentiment is still there.

The comments underneath the video are delighted by the impromptu skate session they have found in The Witcher 3. Although the clip might seem tongue-in-cheek at first glance, it actually serves a purpose. One of the achievements players can unlock in The Witcher 3 involves sliding uninterrupted downhill for 10 seconds, making this spot as useful as it is funny.

As players are still having fun discovering what can be done in Geralt’s third outing, CD Projekt Red has begun development on The Witcher 4. The title is set to begin a new saga in the franchise, and the studio is keen to learn from the mistakes it encountered during the development of Cyberpunk 2077. The key shift is that the team will be utilizing the power of Unreal Engine 5 rather than its own proprietary Red Engine.

Unfortunately, the future of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater franchise looks a little less certain, with Tony Hawk himself confirming a Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3 + 4 remake was canceled by the studio. Microsoft’s recent $68.7 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard also casts further doubt on the franchise, leaving players like IndubitablyCreami to find creative solutions to get their skateboarding fix.
