When CD Projekt Red released The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in 2015, the RPG's popularity exploded. The previous games in the fantasy series had seen success, but the latest release sent the adventures of Geralt of Rivia into the stratosphere.

CD Projekt Red has announced that the next Witcher game is in development, and to tide fans over, a next-gen patch of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is currently targeting a Q4 2022 release. However, troubles within the company have meant that the PS5 & Xbox Series versions have been delayed serval times, leading fans to take matters into their own hands in order to pass the time while they wait on whatever is next.

A Redditor by the name of Hands0m3_Jack24 has not only shared their love of The Witcher series, but has recreated two Steel and Silver swords, Geralt’s weapons of choice. The swords are crafted from wood and not only have been painted to look like they’ve been crafted metal, but they also feature intricate runes running down the blade and stylized hilts which have been meticulously recreated.

The swords have been measured out to be around 115 cm from end to end, and because of the materials used, they are sadly not destined to be used in battle. Instead, they will take pride of place on Hands0m3_Jack24's wall. Somewhat understandably, the creator has seen their fair share of praise heaped on for the incredible replicas, with many users highlighting the professional craftmanship shown in recreating both Steel and Silver.

Elsewhere, other players are utilizing other techniques to get their Witcher fix. The Elden Ring character creator has led to its fair share of recognizable icons from big franchises including Star Wars and Marvel, but one player has taken it to the next level by inserting Geralt into Elden Ring to take on the toughest bosses.

While players are still finding ways to celebrate The Witcher, CD Projekt is still trying to recover from the disastrous launch of Cyberpunk 2077. Though the game has largely been fixed, shares in CD Projekt Red have seen a 75% decline since December 2020. All eyes will be on The Witcher 4 to not only deliver a sequel worthy of the franchise, but to turn the company's fortunes around quickly.

The Witcher 4 is currently in development.
