However, sometimes players unlock these achievements in the most unexpected and awkward ways, as was the case with a player who unlocked the Arrow Deflect trophy in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The Arrow Deflect trophy is earned by deflecting a bolt with a parry, using Geralt’s sword or another parrying weapon. This is a challenging task that requires skill and timing, as the player must anticipate the incoming attack and successfully block it at the right moment
Reddit user Tanomil submitted a video of a heated combat with an opponent in which the player is continually trying to dodge the opponent's shots. And in one moment, while parrying Geralt's sword, the user swings his sword, which accidentally ricochets the bolt off the sword and kills an NPC while also unlocking the Arrow Deflect trophy. The user seems to have gotten exceptionally lucky because the NPC appeared in front of Geralt's opponent with perfect timing, allowing the player to eventually complete the difficult feat.
The user celebrated the awkward success by writing in the caption of his post, "That's one way to get the trophy." The post gained attention from other Witcher 3: Wild Hunt fans, who were both amused and impressed by the player’s awkward way of obtaining the trophy. Many users commented on the post, congratulating the player on their unique unlocking method and sharing their own experiences with unlocking trophies in unexpected ways. Some users stated that they are still attempting to obtain this trophy after failing several times, while others stated how many efforts it took them to obtain it.
Aside from completing challenging achievements in unusual ways, some Witcher 3: Wild Hunt players were also able to kill some tough bosses in the most hilarious ways possible. A Witcher 3: Wild Huntplayer easily defeated the Filibert Fourfingers boss by hurling him down from a tower. These moments in the game demonstrate why The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the 2015 game of the year, is still being played in 2023.
