One of the toughest locations for every victim to navigate around and escape from is the gas station. No horror title is complete without a creepy gas station and this one is up there with the best. This gas station is unique in that it doesn't have any gas running through the pumps which rings alarm bells straightaway. Here's how players can mount an escape from this creepy locale.

Basement

When gamers begin the gas station round in the Texas Chain Saw Massacre, they will be stuck in the basement, in one of the cells. Be very quiet when getting out of the chains as the hunters are around, ready to pounce. Exit doors are highlighted for 30 seconds, so the heat is on to find an escape route. Julie is a good choice for this kind of escape as she is stealthy and possesses the ultimate escape ability.

Find a lock pick and begin to crawl through cracks in the wall or any other way that keeps the player away from the killers. Exit doors are located in the south tunnel, tool storage, shed basement, and the house basement. The ground level can be reached by any of these exits.

Homestead

Now that the player has reached ground level, here are some tips for victims looking for the best way to exit the map. There are a number of ways that players can escape, but certain items are needed. The locations to find them will be different every time the game is played, which makes things a bit more interesting.

Watch out for Grandpa, he is awake and knows the location of the victims. He can appear in the house hallway and the storage shed, so try to disable him to bide more time.

Storefront

If players want a simple exit, the storefront is probably the best route to take. However, it can be heavily guarded so take a couple of tools to fight off unwanted attention.

Padlocks stand in the way of an easy escape through two possible doors. Head to the compound, then onto the smoke room which leads to the storefront. Once the victim arrives at the storefront, it's nearly home and dry, just keep running towards the road and Leatherface and company won't know where their dinner has disappeared off to.

Compound

There's an electrified gate that leads to an exit from the gas station. The victim needs to find the generator located at the compound before attempting an escape this way.

Kicking the generator as hard as possible without drawing attention to what's going on is an art form. The player must do this in the most incognito way, but also make sure the generator breaks down. The next step is to unlock the gate and get out before the killers catch up and kill the victim. The killers will fix the generator, so reaching the gate swiftly is essential for survival.

Pressure Valve

If the player wishes to use the valve exit, a valve handle is a must. Turn the pump after applying pressure to it. A tool is also needed to get the handle off on pipes.

Valve handles can be found at many different locations. The easiest ones to get to are at the compound, the living room, and the backfield. It won't hurt to have a look around, as the player is bound to come across one. This escape isn't the best one but perfectly straightforward to do.

Fusebox Tunnel

Another exit the victim could take is the fusebox tunnel, but this means the player must find a fuse to put inside the fusebox gate which is situated in the North Tunnel basement. This will power everything up and lead the victim on their way to safety.

Be careful though, the killers are on the prowl and ready to attack. There's a puzzle to complete after putting the fuse inside the box, and the player must find a spot where the fuses are. This could be in the garden shed, the compound, or the living room.

Backfield

Finally, the backfield exit is a good option to take for an escape. The victim arrives at the backfield after passing the bridge, with the gate just up ahead. Unlocking the gate can be done instantly without hassle, but powering down the cattle grid needs to be done once the victim goes through the gate.

There's a yellow cable to follow in order to locate the battery for the car which happens to be connected to the grid. The victim needs to turn this off in order to cross safely. Freedom awaits the victim on the other side.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
