The Sims franchise seems to be the perfect place for exciting crossovers, but Maxis has barely scratched the surface. The studio has added various cosmetics based on games like Mass Effect and It Takes Two, but the only massive crossover came in the form of The Sims 4: Journey to Batuu. The pack was a nice unique addition to The Sims, but Maxis has not tried exploring another major franchise since, and that could be changed with a Wizarding World expansion.

The Wizarding World is one of the most popular fantasy franchises around, and EA was responsible for adapting all the movies into video games. While the studio may not make Harry Potter games anymore, it could still bring The Sims franchise on a new magical adventure through The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It seems like the perfect collaboration for the life-sim, and fans would probably love it.

The Sims 4 Went to the Galaxy Far, Far Away

In 2022, The Sims 4 launched its collaboration with the Star Wars franchise, and it was a nice surprise. The Sims 4: Journey to Batuu brought players to a new area heavily inspired by Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge from Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Players were able to explore this new locale, go on new Star Wars adventures, and tell their own story in the galaxy far, far away. It featured almost all the popular sights from the theme park and was truly a treat for fans of the franchise.

This crossover seemed strange at first, but it really works, The Sims fit right into this recreation of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, and it gives fans a lot of Star Wars cosmetics to play with. In a franchise that has magic, vampires, and werewolves, this game pack felt like it belonged. Even with its shortcomings, it may be one of the most unique and interesting game packs that the game currently has to offer.

The Sims Have Earned a Wizarding World Vacation

Since the release of The Sims 4: Journey to Batuu, Maxis has not done another crossover like it. It seems like the only theme park inspired world that the Sims will be able to visit is Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, and that seems like a strange choice. This pack was a fun little crossover adventure and should not be the only Sims 4 game pack based on a major IP. If Maxis can, then it should take the franchise to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter next.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios is a very popular theme park, and it is time for the Sims to take a trip there. Harry Potter is still one of the biggest franchises around, and Hogwarts Legacy showed that there is a hunger for Wizarding World video games. While a DLC crossover will never compare to a standalone game, bringing The Sims 4 to a world inspired by the theme park would surely be a magical treat.

The Sims 4 has already added magic and magical-themed items through various DLC packs, and the Wizarding World seems like the logical next step. Players could take their Sims on a new adventure through Hogwarts and Diagon Alley. They could ride some of the popular rides, interact with recreations of the popular characters, and settle down for the night with a nice cold butterbeer.

A Sims 4 and Harry Potter crossover seems unlikely since WB Games is headlining future Wizarding World titles. EA has access to the Star Wars franchise, but it no longer has the rights to the Harry Potter films. That does not mean a Harry Potter crossover is out of the question, but it does make it a bit harder. Maybe one day the Sims can don Hogwarts robes, but that day may be far away.

The Sims 4 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
