At E3 2019, EA revealed the Island Living expansion pack for The Sims 4, adding things like mermaids and magic to the life simulation game. Now it looks like the world of The Sims 4 is expanding even further, as a new listing on the Xbox Games Store has leaked the existence of The Sims 4 university expansion, entitled Discover University.

The Sims 4 university expansion is expected to be revealed on October 22 at 11am ET. However, the since-removed Xbox Games Store listing has given fans a pretty good idea as to what to expect in terms of new content. According to Reddit user yourneighbortuturu who saw the posting before it was deleted, The Sims 4 university expansion will feature three new careers, which will be Engineer, Lawyer, and Teacher. It seems as though players will have the choice between two different universities - Bright Chester and Foxborough Institute. New items will include mini fridges and bikes.

The Sims 4 university expansion will have sims living with roommates, joining school organizations like Robotics, Debate, Art, and "a secret society." It will also include classes like Bio, Art History, Computer Science, and strangely enough, "Villainy." Sims' grades will be impacted based on whether or not they attend class. But when Sims aren't busy taking classes, they can spend their time engaging in fun activities like "juice" pong.

We must stress that fans should still take this information about The Sims 4 university expansion with a grain of salt. Even though it's most likely legitimate, fans should always exercise caution when it comes to game news unless the news is from the developers or publishers themselves.

Luckily, the wait to learn about The Sims 4 university expansion won't be a long one. EA is expected to officially announce The Sims 4 university expansion on October 22 at 11am ET. It's quite possible that The Sims 4 university expansion release date will also be announced, and it will likely come sooner rather than later. It's usually only a matter of a few weeks or a month between the time an expansion pack for The Sims 4 is announced and when it's released.

In the meantime, the university expansion for The Sims 3 was one of the last expansions released for that game, so it may be a sign that The Sims 4 is nearing the end of its life. With next-gen consoles on the horizon, we wouldn't be surprised to see an announcement for The Sims 5 at some point in the next few years.

The Sims 4 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
