DLC for The Sims 4 is one way that players can get new items, gameplay, and worlds for their Sims to play with. Various kinds of DLC are available, including Expansion packs, Game packs, Stuff packs, and Kits. Stuff packs, which are now mainly replaced with Kits, are more miniature packs that typically only have CAS or Build/Buy items. However, there are Stuff packs that add a significant amount of gameplay, such as careers, lots, and new deaths. For example, the Tiny Living Stuff pack is popular among builders or simmers who like a challenge because it includes new furniture, traits, and a residential lot type.

Tiny homes are a trendy, cost-efficient style of home known to be smaller and encourage a minimalist lifestyle. The Sims 4: Tiny Living includes fun items, cozy clothes, and more that encapsulate the essence of living in a tiny home. It also introduces a new way of thinking regarding building in The Sims 4 by having tile restrictions on Tiny Home Residential lots. This guide covers what Tiny Home Residential lots are, how to build on them, and all items players get in the Tiny Living Stuff pack.

Tiny Home Residential Lots

Tiny homes are residential lots that have tile restrictions. While Sims can technically build tiny homes on basic residential lots, using the tiny home residential grants Sims with new lot perks that are otherwise hidden, plus any lot traits. There are three tiers for tiny homes in Tiny Living, including Small, Tiny, and Micro. Each has benefits and a tile limit that Sims must stay in to qualify for the lot perks. Sims must also use a minimum of 4 tiles for their tiny homes. Enclosed walls, fences, patios, and balconies all count toward the tile count. The 100 tiles are the max amount of tiles for a property to be considered a tiny home.

Any lot can be turned into a tiny home residential lot from Manage Worlds. Players can change a lot's type by traveling to it and entering Build/Buy mode. Next, click on the home icon on the top left side of the screen to access the lot panel. A drop-down menu lists all the lot types, with the tiny home residential lot directly underneath the standard residential lot. This will bring up the lot requirements needed to qualify as a complete tiny home lot.

Tiny Living Build/Buy Items

The Sims 4 Tiny Living Stuff

Tiny Living includes many objects in Build/Buy mode that players can use to make the best of their lack of space in tiny homes. Avoiding wasting space is the most important part of furnishing a tiny home, so many of the items use 1-2 tiles to place. The pack also includes new objects like murphy beds and TV/Shelf combos.

Unfolding a murphy bed can lead to an untimely death, so Sims should proceed with caution when using them.

Tiny Living has a total of 36 items in the Build/Buy mode, including the following:

  • 5 Beds
  • 5 Chairs/Sofas
  • 5 Tables/Desks
  • 5 Wall Decorations
  • 5 Lights
  • 2 Dressers
  • 2 TVs
  • 2 Clutter Items
  • 1 Shelf
  • 1 Toilet
  • 1 Sink
  • 1 Rug
  • 1 Door

The Sims 4: Tiny Living is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox One.
