The Sims 4 has dozens of DLC packs that players can get if they'd like to be able to do more activities and extend their base game experience. Knitting is one of the hobbies that gamers can enjoy in The Sims 4 if they purchase one of the smaller content packs - the Nifty Knitting stuff pack.
Stuff packs aren't known for having all that many gameplay features, but that's actually what Nifty Knitting focuses on the most. With the Knitting skill, The Sims 4 players get access to completely new handcrafted outfits and furniture, as well as adorable interactions with their friends and family.
Knitting Overview
Just as its name indicates, Nifty Knitting's main focus is the Knitting skill. Increasing a Sim's Knitting skill is particularly useful because it gives players access to new clothing and objects that they can then create themselves.
To start knitting, players only need to add a yarn basket to their Sim's inventory. Then, as they improve their knitting capacities, Sims will be able to make more knittables, such as socks, mailbox cozies, plant holders, rugs, sweaters, poufs, decorations, onesies, and children's toys.
This pack also adds the Lord/Lady of the Knits aspiration; upon completion, the aspiration gifts the Sim with the Sacred Knitting Knowledge trait, which allows Sims to create a special item and a forbidden item. The trait also grants immunity to the forbidden item's curse.
If Sims are in a good mood and have a relatively high skill level, they'll start making higher quality products, which they can then sell on the new social media platform, Plopsy. This app lets Sims sell their creations on the web and profit from their knitting items.
Create-A-Sim Items
There are 41 Create-A-Sim items in the Nifty Knitting stuff pack, but gamers won't get access to all of them right away. To unlock all the available clothing items, they must level up their Knitting skill, craft the item, and then add it to their wardrobe to be able to wear it. These clothes have several different patterns, and they will gradually be unlocked as the Sim knits them over time.
Hairstyles and jeans can't be knitted and are immediately granted as soon as gamers purchase the pack.
Build Mode Items
The Nifty Knitting stuff pack adds 24 items to Build Mode right away, but there are several objects that players can knit and use to place in their homes. These are draggable objects that must be handcrafted, so they aren't listed in the stuff pack's overview as part of Build Mode. Regardless, they can still be used to decorate Sims' homes; they clutter up the place quite nicely and help make it feel lived in.
The Sims 4 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
