Table of contents

Stuff packs are smaller expansions available for The Sims 4; this makes it possible for specific types of content that wouldn't otherwise fit into a bigger expansion pack to be added to the game. The Nifty Knitting stuff pack was added to The Sims 4 following a player vote, which gave fans the opportunity to choose its concept and content.

This guide will show players everything they need to know about the Knitting skill, a new skill that made it into The Sims 4 with the release of the Nifty Knitting stuff pack.

How to Learn the Knitting Skill

In order to learn the Knitting skill in The Sims 4, players must first own the required materials: some yarn and knitting needles.

The Nifty Knitting stuff pack added several Build Mode items to the game, including the Super Stash Yarn Basket and the Beginner's Yarn Basket. Both of these items can be used to start learning the Knitting skill; the player has to purchase one of them in Build Mode, put it in the Sim's inventory, and then the player can select it at any time to get the Sim to start knitting and learn this skill.

Sims can only knit while they're sitting down, so the player must have either placed down a chair, a bench, a sofa, or even a bed where the Sim can sit and relax.

Alternatively, Sims can also learn the Knitting skill with another Sim. If a Sim has reached Knitting skill level 5, they can teach other Sims how to knit.

How to Master the Knitting Skill

To master the Knitting skill, a Sim must continue to knit as much as possible until they reach level 10.

Players should make sure they make the Sim feel Inspired as they knit so that their skill improves faster. Gamers that own the Tiny Living stuff pack can also take advantage of this by building a level 2 tiny home; this will trigger the You Got the Touch trait, which allows Sims to increase their skills twice as fast.

The Sims 4 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
