Selvadorada
Selvadorada, the second destination world in The Sims 4, is a breathtaking, lush, jungle-filled world inspired by Latin American culture. Similar to Granite Falls, Selvadorada is a world where Sims cannot live permanently, as it is primarily designed for vacationing and exploration. The world contains a total of 4 rental lots and 3 community lots, with two neighborhoods featuring different activities to do. Each lot offers a unique living experience and is suitable for a solo trip or a family visit. Compared to the Granite Falls, Selvadorada offers much more activities, hence a great holiday destination for every Sim.
One of the main attractions in Selvadorada is the ancient jungle, which contains temples and hidden treasures. Sims can explore the jungle, uncover secrets, and even come across dangerous traps and creatures. They can also learn about the culture and history of the area by interacting with locals or visiting the local marketplace. Sims can try local foods, shop for souvenirs, or even learn unique interactions related to Selvadoradian Culture.
Jungle District Of Selvadorada
The Jungle District, nestled within the Belomisia Jungle, is one of the hidden areas that make up Selvadorada unique in The Sims 4. Unlike the other areas that are readily available on the map, the Jungle District is hidden and requires Sims to adventure and clear paths at mystery gateways to access a series of lots. Although it may seem daunting at first, unlocking all the areas is a unique and rewarding experience. To journey to all areas of the Jungle District, Sims must engage in a series of adventures and clear away vines to access the gateways leading to different parts of the jungle. Each gateway requires Sims to complete a chance card adventure, adding an element of unpredictability and excitement to the exploration. While some areas are accessible right away, others are locked and require Sims to come back later and clear additional vines to gain entry. This method of unlocking areas provides players with a sense of progress and discovery as they gradually uncover all the secrets the jungle has to offer.
The Jungle District offers more than just scenery and exploration; it is also a treasure trove of ancient Omiscan artifacts and relics. Players will find dig sites and treasure chests containing rare relics, some of which offer unique powers, like the ability to summon a skeleton that can help with chores around the house, similar to the beloved Bonehilda NPC. However, players should be cautious when exploring Selvadorada, as it is not without its dangers. This pack adds three new deaths, including Death by Combustion, Death by Electrocution, and Death by Poison, all of which can be the unfortunate end for Sims who have been cursed and have not cured themselves. The curse can occur via natural dangers such as pests, traps like poison darts, chance cards, or interacting with certain relics. Each curse mark has nuances in terms of moodlets, but can be cured in a variety of ways that players can explore.
While the Jungle District may require some effort to unlock, it offers an excellent method of ensuring replayability via multiple visits, making it stand out compared to other worlds as a destination world. The world is not randomly generated, so players will always find the same things each time, which provides a sense of familiarity while still offering new things to explore. Exploring the Jungle District is an experience like no other, and the rewards are worth the effort.
New Lot Traits
Although most of the new features in the Jungle Adventure pack are exclusive to Selvadorada, two new lot traits have been added that are available for both Selvadorada rental lots and residential lots in any world. These lot traits are Peace and Quiet and Creepy Crawlies. The latter lot trait has been converted into a lot challenge with the introduction of Patch 115 as a new feature.
The lot trait Peace and Quiet is highly beneficial for skill building in The Sims 4. Reading skill books on a lot with this trait significantly increases the rate of skill gain, and also helps Sims to recover from tense moodlets faster. Additionally, lots with this trait provide a peaceful and tranquil environment that Sims can enjoy and thrive in. Whether visiting or residing on a lot with this trait, Sims are sure to appreciate the peaceful atmosphere it provides.
Although not the most difficult lot challenge to manage, Creepy Crawlies can be quite unpleasant for Sims. This challenge involves the appearance of pests, including bats, spiders, and bees, which can cause Sims to feel tense or uncomfortable. If left unaddressed, these pests can even harm Sims.
Jungle Explorer Aspiration
The Jungle Explorer aspiration in The Sims 4 is designed for players who want to fully explore the wonders of Selvadorada. This aspiration is similar to others that focus on the unique features of a world, but it stands out as one of the more enjoyable ones due to the fun and distinctive activities that Selvadorada has to offer. To complete the aspiration, Sims need to immerse themselves in the local culture by interacting with the natives, sampling local cuisine, and browsing market stalls and improve Selvadoradian Culture skill. More challenging tasks involve trekking through the jungle to discover relics and treasures, which can be a thrilling experience for adventurous Sims. Overall, the Jungle Explorer aspiration offers a refreshing change of pace from the usual goals and objectives of other aspirations.
Upon completing the Jungle Explorer aspiration, Sim will receive the Treasure Hunter reward trait. This trait can be useful for players who enjoy treasure hunting, as it increases the chances of finding rare relics and treasures in treasure chests. While it may not be the most powerful reward trait, it can certainly enhance the experience of exploring Selvadorada and collecting ancient Omiscan artifacts and completing the entire collection.
Archeology Scholar Aspiration
The Archeology Scholar Aspiration centers around the archeology skill, a unique and mostly exclusive skill to Selvadorada. Sims will need to excavate dig piles or excavation sites, authenticate artifacts, and perform other activities to increase their Archeology skill level. In addition, players must reach the maximum level of skill. However, compared to the Jungle Explorer aspiration, the tasks are less exciting and the reward trait is not particularly motivating.
Upon completion of the Archeology Scholar Aspiration, Sim will receive the Museum Patron bonus trait, which has a narrow focus. This trait provides a boost to Sims' moodlets when they visit museum lots, making it easier for them to enjoy activities in these lots. Unfortunately, this bonus trait may not be considered valuable as museums are not typically the most exciting lots to spend time in The Sims 4. Therefore, players may want to consider if the reward is worth the time investment in completing the aspiration.
Archeology Skill
In The Sims 4: Jungle Adventure, players can explore Selvadorada and develop their Archeology skill up to level 10. With this skill, Sims can dig up various excavation sites, authenticate artifacts, and combine relics and discoveries to create powerful moodlets. The main ways to improve this skill are by digging through dirt piles and authenticating artifacts. Selvadoradian Culture
The Sims 4: Jungle Adventure introduces the Selvadoradian Culture skill, which has a maximum level of 5. This skill involves learning about the culture of Selvadorada. One way to improve this skill is to engage in social activities with the locals, as well as to sample and enjoy the local cuisine. Interacting with vendors is another way to build this skill. As Sims progress through this skill, they gain access to new interactions, including new salutes and dances, as well as secret food and drink options from vendor stalls.
