ock Climbing is a new physical Skill and gameplay feature in The Sims 4: Snowy Escape. Sims can test their inner adventurer by honing in on this Skill and using it to explore the various mountains and cliff faces in the wintery world. However, Rock Climbing must be taken slow and steady because if Sims get too hasty, it could result in death.

There are quite a few ways to practice Rock Climbing, and once ready, Sims can take on the Mountain Excursion event. However, they must thoroughly prepare before attempting it or any other mountain. So, this guide has everything to know about Rock Climbing in The Sims 4: Snowy Escape, including how to practice, where to buy gear, and all the available climbing spots.

Increase Rock Climbing Skill

The Sims 4

Like all other major skills, the Rock Climbing Skill has ten possible levels. The easiest way to increase the Rock Climbing skill is to go Rock Climbing at Mt. Komorebi near the beginning of the skiing and snowboarding courses up the lift. Players can do this with or without gear, but they run the risk of their Sim falling and injuring themselves. Sims must be at least at Rock Climbing level one to purchase gear. Gear can be purchased on a computer under the "Order..." menu for 450 Simoleons and equipped once in a Sims inventory. Gear does take on wear and tear, so it will eventually break, and Sims will have to buy another set while they work on their Rock Climbing Skill.

Rock Climbing Skill books can be bought using a bookshelf if players want to give their Sims a less hands-on introduction. Another alternative is if players have The Sims 4: Fitness Stuff pack, they can purchase an indoor rock climbing wall in Build/Buy and use it to increase their Skill.

Visit Mt. Komorebi's Climbing Walls

The Sims 4

Once Sims have a high enough Rock Climbing Skill, they can explore the various climbing routes in Mt. Komorebi. The starter wall is near the Bunny Slopes and rental property. The medium wall is atop the skiing and snowboarding slopes towards Mt. Komorebi's peak. Players will know they are in the right spot when they see a flat and slightly darker cliff face that lights up when they hover over it. Walls taller than that can only be found during the Mountain Climb Excursion Event.

Before attempting a climb, make sure that a Sims has high needs. Being in a Focused mood is also an excellent way to ensure success. If a Sims tries to climb a wall without a high enough skill level or the proper preparation, they can fall; if the wall is medium or higher, there's a slight chance the fall could kill them. Another good idea is to check the climbing conditions by clicking on a climbing wall, especially during a blizzard. If it is unsafe, Sims should hold off on trying until the weather clears up.

The Sims 4: Snowy Escape is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
