In The Sims 4: Realm of Magic, the Sim as a spellcaster can get permanent curses that do not go away on their own. Read the following guide to learn how to cure a curse in The Sims 4.

How to Get Rid of a Curse in The Sims 4

There are many ways a Sim can get cursed, including negative experience with a spell, encountering a magical duel, or consuming a certain portion. Getting a curse is definitely not a delightful experience for a Sim, as curses can last forever. Therefore, players need to take extreme measures in order to get rid of them.

Drink the Potion of Curse Cleansing

The first method for players to remove a pesky curse from their spellcaster is to get them to drink the Potion of Curse Cleansing. Players can get this potion once they hit level 3.

The ingredients required to prepare this potion include:

1 x Apple
1 x Citrine
1 x Angelfish
1 x Mandrake.

Visit the Caster's Alley and look for the Potion Shop there; that's where the ingredients for the Potion of Curse Cleansing can be purchased. This shop may also have the ready-made Potion of Curse Cleansing, though it’s not guaranteed.

It is important to remember that players can learn the recipe for this potion only if they are at the Acolyte Spellcaster Rank and Experiment at a Cauldron. After drinking this particular potion, the spellcaster will get rid of all sorts of curses, although it’s important to note that it may sometimes fail. Those who find themselves in a similar situation can try other workarounds.

Perform the Decrusify Spell

Decrusify is a curse-removing spell that, once used, removes the curse on the Sim. This master rank spell is from the Untamed branch of magic. However, players will have to discover all the lower-ranked spells first in order to learn the Decrusify spell.

Remember that it is not necessary for the cursed Sim to cast the Decrusify spell themselves. Family members or any other Sim can also cast the spell and free the Sim of the curse.
